Fits M1 Garand
Awesome quality and looks great on my M1

A solid functional reproduction
I have a 1903 Springfield as well as a M1 Garand. As much as I would like to spend a fortune for an original bayonet I was just looking for something that could be displayed and still look decent. Decided I was going to give this bayonet a try and I'm impressed. Is it an original? No. BUT it still looks good for a fraction of the cost. It fits the 1903 very snug with no wiggle. It fits the M1 Garand as well but with a little more wiggle. Both are secure and do not come off unless you release it like normal. Blade is coated black and can be sanded off if you prefer the metal blade look. Bayonet did come sharpened and does through some soft material(plastic clothes baskets...etc). Overall good for what you get.

Chunky piece of utilitarian steel.
Arrived in the time span estimated. Came in a padded box. Impressed with the quality of mine. The sheath was in good condition, no nicks, dents or scratches. The blade is a black coated steel, the handles are made out of a black plastic material and fitted tight on my example. held in the sheath by a spring loaded detent latch. Latch felt a bit janky, but I have never held a period example to judge by. Still locked into my 1954 M1 Garand just fine. A quite noticeable a mount of sideways wiggle though. Don't know if this is normal or not. Was gonna be getting a new barrel and gas cylinder anyway and see if this wiggle goes away or not. Even if you choose to not use it as a bayonet, you can use it as a short sword. Great value, pleased withy this product.

it has really great safety features
I have shopped for Garand bayonet for years . I was out bidder 3 times on original blades which went for over 300 bucks. this item I spotted and read the reviews, and took a chance. when it came, I was really surprised , its very well made. razor sharp, it has really great safety features, along with a very well made sheath. it fits the grand perfect and looks just as good as an original . for the money , it cannot be beat a super well made product . I recommend it. 5 star item.

Not bad, cheaper price and minor flaws compared to surplus issue
Fits our M1 Garand but a little bit loose or wobbly, and the scabbard is plastic, so we returned it. It's not bad, and a whole lot less costly than surplus "real" units, so a very reasonable trade off, but not quite as good as we expected or wanted. Ours also had a little spot of rust in the handle area, surprising for a newly-made item. So, if you want a bayonet for show and don't want to spend a ton getting a surplus unit at a gun show or similar venue, this should serve, but it's not as sold or great as perhaps it should be. Not bad, mind you, but don't expect a perfect, authentic bayonet.

Cheap and does not work well
This bayonet has a cheap and sloppy fit. It doesn't lock in when properly attached. When you do force it to lock in, it's loose and frail..... I'm not sure who would want this bayonet for anything other than a show piece.

This item was bever quality checked .
This item was defective upon arrival . The bayonet is stuck in the scabbard . The bayonet lug hook is not connected and it's just a long cold rolled steel knife . 40 bucks was a waste on this item that was packed and shipped without checking . Package was in great shape not damaged in shipping it's just defective and Amazon doesn't have a option for thay or help contacting the seller ... additional. I had to disassemble the grip and remove internal parts. Reassemble and is now working like advertised. I am changing review to 5 star. Is solid tight piece . Will gladly use on my original springfield.

As good as I had hoped
I don't own a garand, so I haven't tried it for fit, but it appears to have legitimate dimensional qualities. While I have not done "laboratory tests" on it, it is indeed long and apparently of standard thickness, and it has a feel very much like authentic bayonets that I have known from the WWII era. One thing that I am always unsure about in purchasing an unfamiliar edged implement is the quality of the steel. This one said, "high carbon steel," and that seemed hopeful. My conclusion is that the steel is in fact quite satisfactory. I like the steel in a Ka-Bar knife that I recently purchased somewhat better, but that is chrome-vanadium, very tough and sharp. This one appears to be high carbon steel as stated, and it seems the right hardness for a bayonet, fairly easy to sharpen well but not seeming brittle enough to chip easily. I tested it for hardness against an inexpensive stainless steel pocket knife that I carry, and while the knife will not scratch this bayonet, the bayonet, when sharpened, can cut thin shavings off of the pocket knife. I think it will do just fine.
