Actiontec 500 Mbps Powerline 1-Port Single Network Adapter (PWR511WB1)

Bought this being my 3rd one (already had bought the 2 pair kit months ago) to work on my mother's bedroom. So far works very well. As an additional info I have the two secondary ones ( one connected to my pc and the other one to my mother's android tv box) conected on powerstrip outlets (with surge protection) without any issues.Note: Last night I ran into an strange issue in which the LK light (the one in the middle) was off on all devices despite all being connected as usual (Obviously ethernet internet was gone because of this). I solved it by putting the main adapter (the one connected to the router) and a second one in 'standby mode' together. -you put these things in stand mode by pressing the reset buton for 2 secs and release it (lights will start blinking constantly).Gave it 4 stars because had another one died after 3 months use.

Its great... if it continues to work. I bought this as a replacement for a unit that only worked for about six months. I read other reviews saying similar things, so make sure you get a good price and you'll be very happy if it works but can't say you weren't warned that its life may be short.

I'd have given this a 5 except that this is the second one I've had to order. The first one simply and inexplicably stopped working after a few months. However when it did work it was seamless. The new one is still going strong after a month and I'm hoping that my first experience was simply that of having received a defective unit. The effective speed of my connection increased from a variable 30 to 52 Mbps, to 100 Mbps consistently. Streaming movies from Netflix, or any of the others I use, no longer pixelate or intermittently hang like they previously would.

Very easy to install . Just plug in one unit to your router and the wall plug and the other to the wall plug and devices you wish to link (using ethernet cables).Connection is usually automatic but sometimes requires a reset. We replaced our units which may have been damaged with an electrical surge --- lights still were on but no connection was possible.This ports your internet around your house to speciific devices providing much more speed and robustness than wireless connections.

These little devices actually work for me. I've got an Apple TV/Roku pair in the living room and another pair in the master bedroom. Getting a Wi-Fi signal to them especially to the back bedroom had its challenges especially with multiple viewers. The router is in my office at the front of the house. I invested in two 5-port switches and three Actiontec 500 Mbps Powerline 1-Port Single Network Adapters. Thankfully all the lights on the Actiontec units were green. Phew!! I decided to try the ultimate test. I had all Apple TVs and Rokus (4 units total) running a movie at the same time. There were no hiccups or the typical "buffering". It may have been a good evening with my ISP, however, I was pleased with the performance which would of never been matched by the Wi-Fi setup.I know there are many folks out there that don't have any issues with their Wi-Fi and can stream HD content all day long...I'm indeed jealous. However, I'm very pleased with these little Actiontec units and they have solved the Wi-Fi deficiencies in my house.

This is the third one I've bought, and they seem to die at about 9 month to a year. No matter if it's the single or multi-network LAN hookup. I really dislike having to use them, but in this old building I am unable to wire up a full network cables. The reason I chose these actiontecs over other brands is because of the 500+ Mbps speed for the price they offered. I would rather spend more for any other version if it lasted half as long...

These work great when they work but my experience is with the first power surge after a power outage they go out never to work again. Gonna look for another brand. Too expensive to keep replacing them.

I have five of these in various parts of my house. All you have to do is plug them in and you are finished. I bought this one to replace one that suddenly failed. Even so, I still like the performance and the reliability when I am using it. Actually, I should have purchased the slower speed version because it is essentially just as fast in real life. My internet speed is only 50 mb/sec. I'm not using my home network to transfer huge data files, so what's the point of paying so much? Maybe in a business environment, it might make a lot more sense.
