The chopper works really well. I chopped scallions and was very happy with the results. My issue with the chopper is that you can't fully disassemble it for cleaning. It's inevitable that small bits of chopped food will work its way up into the top half of the chopper. There's no way to remove the blade and get up in there for cleaning, so I suppose the food will either just dry up or go bad. Since there's no way to know, I don't feel comfortable using it to prepare food. Unfortunately, I can't recommend it.

Pro:visually attractiveworks as advertisedW shaped blade is sharpsatisfying pounding action (if you don't consider the quality of chopping)Con:you have to chop things fairly small before placing in the SMALL chopping chamberthe blade doesn't chop all the way down into the base of the cup/binyou must place your trust in luck that the device is cleanThe worst problem is the impossibility of seeing if debris and films have been removed from the chopper because the blades retract into a portion that can't be inspected. Maybe immediate hot water and detergent clean sufficiently, but if you neglect to clean things immediately after use, you are flying blind. Most projects are better done the old fashioned way with a handheld knife and cutting board.

I had a pampered chef chopper. The plastic shroud broke. I got this cheaper than the replacement part. Works well easy cleaning
