Corsair MP600 PRO XT 8TB M.2 NVMe PCIe Gen. 4 x4 SSD

Certainly not for everyone, but what a lovely disk.

I've never had a hard drive this fast before. There were some difficulties with installation because it doesn't come with mounting screws so if your motherboard doesn't have one of those easy installation slots for an M.2 drive be prepared for some annoyance. That's not an issue with this drive though, it's an issue with my motherboard. Otherwise, it's been great. It's really fast and 8TB is enough space for pretty much anything I want to do. It works well on Windows and Linux, I've used it for both. It's gone up in price since I bought it but even then it's a great value.

Ho preso questo ssd con capacità 8TB per poter allocare le librerie Kontakt da usare con la mia DAW. In passato ne ho acquistate delle altre da 4TB e da 2TB. Scelsi la Corsair in sostituzione della Sabrent che scaldava a morire nel suo box di alluminio a raffreddamento passivo! Oltre a cambiare marchio con soddisfacente risultato anche sulla velocità, decisi di alloggiare l'ssd in un box con ventolina, a dissipazione attiva. Ovviamente ho fatto attenzione ai vari dispostivi per poter sfruttare a pieno la velocità della memoria scoprendo box a 10, 20 e 40 Gbps. Credo anche che la velocità massima la si potrà avere solo quando si alloggia l'ssd direttamente sulla scheda madre o su un adattatore PCI. Ma su questo esistono molti tutorial soddisfacenti. Purtroppo una prima memoria mi è arrivata bacata e dopo aver trasferito parte dei dati succedeva che si disconnetteva per poi riconettersi dopo un poco (qualche componente forse aveva risentito delle temperature alte). Amazon ha accettato il reso e verificato che la memoria fosse difettata per rimborsarmi e permettermi di effettuare un nuovo acquisto. Ho piazzato i cuscinetti termici al di sotto dell'M.2 e sopra (laddove è presente un secondo controller). Per la parte superiore ho dovuto mettere ben tre cuscinetti affinché ci fosse contatto tra i cuscinetti e la chiusura del box. Ho trasferito i dati con un programma di sincronizzazione dei backup, FreeFileSync, per rendere più dolce il trasferimento che nel giro di un'ora circa ha completato il trasferimento di oltre 3TB di roba.

It is an NVME drive that will not disappoint you... large capacity, great performance, excellent packaging and protection... heat sink ready, price a little high compared to other brands... the bad thing? the software. Ugggh, but if that doesn't matter to you and it shouldn't, it is a great nvme drive without more or less and it offers you exactly what it promises. If you can buy it, don't hesitate, this is the best in the 8Tb class.
