Q: I'm a petite female weighing only 7.5 stone but need to lay large laminate floor. Will this be ok for me to use? Thanks

I know this is an old question, I hope you managed ok. I am 9 stone and would push down and sometimes even have to put my whole weight ie my legs were off the ground to cut into it.! Great for laying floors. If the top of the laminate chips it's fine as the right hand end is always covered off by the skirting.

Q: Will it cut wooden flooring

It definitely does cut 10mm laminate flooring. Not too sure if it will cut wooden flooring

Q: Do I need to sharpen it? It has a 3mm blade of uniform thinkness and required all my strength to go through a 12mm laminate. the cut was more a break.

This is a very good cutter I have used it at least once a week for the past two years.and had no problems with it.But only cutting laminate to ten mm the blade chops a thin piece of laminate out .does not actually cutIt is really limited to the thiner flooring. Do not have a go at sharpening it.

Q: Can I cut at angles or is it just 90degrees?

It's designed just to cut 90 degrees, but you could cut slightly off 90 degrees (eg to allow for slightly off-square walls) by holding or clamping a piece at an angle across it, but the material needs to be held firmly to avoid it slipping forwards as the blade pushes into it. How far off 90 degrees you could go depends on how wide your strips are.
