We ordered this product last minute for a trip we were taking to the beach. The house we stayed at has the main living and bedrooms upstairs, so we needed something that would block off the stairs without damaging or leaving marks on the walls. This gate was perfect. It solved that problem and so many more. Folded up (and in its case) it is so compact that it took up nearly no space in the back of our car. Also, because it is a netting and not a lattice-type fence, our toddler couldn't climb it. Win-win! This gate has become our go-to gate. It stays folded up in the closet but is so easy to pull out and open up whenever I need the kitchen blocked off. I am SO happy we purchased this gate!I do want to say that when my toddler first shook the gate, I heard rattling and was nervous that she was going to knock it over. Not the case at all. The pressure pieces were firmly against the wall. The noise was coming from the netting that does have a little space to move forward and backward. The movement of the netting (and the aggressiveness of our toddler) did not move the gate one bite. This is definitely something I will be recommending to all my friends!

This product is easy to install and pretty sturdy. My toddler has yanked on it but never has came down. It’s hard to find a product that will work on one side a wall and other side is the wooden stair pole (and you don’t want to drill into it). This product does work. The con - there isn’t a door that opens or closes. You literally have to take down the gate or step over it. I ended up keeping it because it is hard to find another gate that works. My husband and I just get a daily workout hurdling over the gate the next few years.

This is perfect and exactly what we were looking for. We live in a rental and can't drill holes in the walls for a baby gate. This was a life saver. I really don't understand the reviews stating the set up was difficult. I'm not handy at all and put this up myself in under 5 mins. There really was no installation. You just sit it where you want it, pull the sides so they hit your walls, and tighten with the squeeze lever. Maybe I got an updated version?? It was super easy to install and so far it has kept my 18 month old safe.

I don’t see where can this be used honestly. Its hard to put it in place and u got to remove it every time if you want to get though or jump on it. Returned.

The reviewer "Born in Kansas" who also gave it one start did a good job explaining the downsides of this poorly designed product.We got this for the top of the stairs to prevent an 18 month old grandson from falling down them. It took my wife and 31 year old son, (both mechanically inclined people--my wife is a builder/contractor) 30 minutes to get it set up correctly. Incredibly poorly designed and cheap mechanisms. It takes two people to do anything to it.Once installed, it did not allow any of the four adults in our household to open it and step through. The mechanisms don't work as described. Going over it is the only way and of course tricky if you are going down the stairs with nine inches risers. That first drop is significant.Trying to take it down and put it back in the box for return was a nightmare. Another half and hour of frustration with two people working diligently together. Poles don't slide the way they are described as doing in the written instructions. Spring loaded locking mechanisms don't hold as described.We have another one we have that is terrific but out of stock right now, (brand name Summer™), which is why we tried this one. Big mistake.

These negative reviews must be paid actors from competition or something, especially the ones without a reason. I've purchased a few of these for family and friends in the past and now finally have reason to purchase a couple for myself. Very easy to put up and take down. The carrying case is perfect, especially if you have something like a pack n play that goes into similar carrying pack. Very sturdy that can handle the beating children put on it and does phenomenal on my staircase where regular gates fail to stand. This gate is by far the best on market.

Great concept however if you put them on the stairs its not very easy to put up and down. You would have to step over it each time.We tried using it to block off the kitchen from our little ones, and the top part slid off from the wall and smacked our youngest. We will be returning.

I was looking for gates for stairs at top and bottom. Didn’t want to have to use any permanent brackets. I only use the gates when grandchildren are here. These were fairly easy to install. Gates are tight and secure against wall and stairway spindles. Perfect solution! The nice carry case will be handy for storage and travel too.
