Record PowerAC400 2 Stage Air Filter with Remote 3 Speeds and Time Delay

Good quality as with all record power items. The only criticism I have is that the intake is on the back and the remote isn't particularly good. I've mounted it backwards so can't see the controls and to maximise how much dust it pulls in. The remote feels a bit tacky which surprises me as every other bit of kit I have from RP feels high quality and I have quite a lot.

My tiny (UK single car garage) workshop has a roof that is too low to use the supplied hooks and chains so I modified my lumber rack as per the photos. I had the thing running on the bench while I did the mods :)It works a treat - not too noisy, like an aircon really. Sound is moving air after all so if you want to clean the air in your shop you will get some noise! After one Saturday cutting and routing various woods & some mdf - with pretty good extraction running, the filter had changed colour completely! This unit has the advantage that you can use a vacuum to clean the filter out and what you see in the photo is the effect of another morning at "work" so it performs really well. Don't lose the remote as you cannot set the timer from the front panel.

Great product but arrived damaged. Couldn't be bothered to return so fixed myself and running excellently.

Have it in a small workshop for over a year now its manky with dust so it must be working, have to clean it out, no problems with remote control so if the dust is in that its not in me, ha ha

I thought a while before clicking buy on this because it's not an impulse buy. But in the end I'm glad I got it for my shed. I've started wood turning and although the turning it's self makes shavings when you start sanding there can be a lot of dust and some woods can be particularly nasty.I have asthma and having this unit running really seems to have helped my wheezing after a session. I also use the timer to leave it running when I shut up the shed so the air is clear when I next go in.It is a fairly chunky unit so in a small workshop you will have to think about where to place it. With my sloping ceiling I didn't have too many choices, but it fitted in neatly just above the door.Judging from the colour of the filters on the back after just a couple of weeks I'm glad it's getting trapped there and not on my lungs.

I'm really please with this air filter and really should have bought one sooner. You can feel the difference in air quality after a session on the sander or router and there's a very noticeable reduction in the amount of dust deposited on surfaces after work has finished. I'd certainly recommend this machine for the small workshop.Postives; reduces air borne dust, cleaner and healthier work space, timer function really handly and filters are easy to access and clean (I cut away some of the card from the front of the primary filter to get in with the vacuum brush).Negatives; i) it isn't very powerful at 100W and therefore only really suitable for a small work shop. Alternatives like the Jet models move more air per hour and therefore better for larger workshops. I use a double garage as a workshop and this machine is a low on cfm for this space but still does a decent job. The record power unit is half the price of a Jet though! ii) It would be better with a fine HEPA filter to really get the harmful dust down. As it is a good proportion of very small particles are likely to be recirculated back in to the workshop. iii) Delivery for me was very slow, about 2 weeks.Spare filters are available online or from Record Power directly.

Nice air cleaner for the price, amazing how much dust it finds in the air.
