First time ordering but will be getting this again! Love the stories for each day and that they come right from the Bible. My daughter is two and loved opening up each day as she listened to the story (she’s a little too young to understand, but my husband and I got so much from it!)

Last year I really wanted to get her book: Unwrapping the Greatest Gift but just couldn't get the ornaments and tree in time. This year I saw this book coming out and I knew this would be perfect for us and it was. My son who is over a year and a half looked forward to it everyday. When papi didn't make it home for lunch we would wait until dinner to read it but that meant all through lunch he would point at the book sitting on the table.
I felt the writing in this one was perfect for him. It was short enough for our family and had a little prayer at the end.
My only downfall of this was one of the ornaments fell off the tree and the puppy chewed off a corner. I'm hoping at some point she will sell replacement ornaments.

I have been looking for a devotional advent for a long time and I was really not sure about this. I bought it to try out the devotional advent. It is the best devotional advent and advent I have ever seen. The spiritual value it has is priceless!

Great book, fun for kids!

While we really like this concept the execution left us disappointed. My family is perhaps a little too old for this maybe (12 & 17 yo)? We were looking for something we could use over and over again. The book that came with it wasn’t, in our opinion, entirely accurate, and didn’t meet our expectations. Overall, it probably will get packaged up and sent on to a younger family. It was pretty and sturdy. Able to be used yearly if desired.

For anyone on the fence about purchasing this, DO IT! You will not be sorry! This is so well crafted and far exceeds any idea I had about it’s quality and durability. I don’t have small children at home any more, but have done Ann Voskamp’s Unwrapping The Greatest Gift - which I did after reading The Greatest Gift and loving it so much! Ann has such a gift for speaking to the heart of the child still within us, the one longing for the wonder, joy, anticipation, and delight of the Christmas celebrations that we knew or hoped for when we were growing up. I will be using this as part of my morning devotion in years to come to keep on my study desk and have as a beautiful reminder throughout Advent of the truest meaning of Christmas.

Beautiful artwork! There are sweet stories of the main characters in Scripture through whom the Lord revealed Himself and who responded to His call. I don't mind the author's artistic touch of seeing God as weeping for those He must judge in the flood. It is written for little children and they love it and see the heart of God precisely because of how it is written. Nothing is taken away or lost because of the expressive heart and perspective of the author. Her work is beautiful and not unBiblical in any way. She sees the heart of the Father and the heart of Christ. The kids LOVE putting each ornament on the lovely tree and they are hearing how God reaches out to us with His great love. It is wonderful for children under the age of 10. Children will hear more of the depth and other aspects of those stories as they grow. The joy and tenderness of how the stories are told are perfect for the target audience. We can hit the hearts of our children too hard sometimes with the stories and this book touches them with the beauty of how God reaches out to us and is at work through all of history. We have LOVED it this year! Thank you, Ann, for all the work you put into the book! God bless your family and your ministry! Comes with a booklet to read daily along with an ornament to decorate the pop up tree. Great way to celebrate the true meaning of Christmas

I am quite happy I got this. I brought this to start a tradition with my 2year and really get them stuck into the real reason of Christmas. I was worried that this would be too much for a 2 year old but by day 5 my 2 year old understood it was something we did daily and my little one really started to enjoy it and know to take out the book, sit, listen, then hang. I do have to adjust the story slightly, to make it simpler I.e. avoid the questions. I also added my own actions to help my little one partipate and enjoy the story. Its worth starting early, you never know what they take from it. But at the least you will have started a Christmas routine/ tradition that will eventually be great for your child and help learn about Christ as our Christmas gift and His love for us.

I use this book daily for Advent as a companion to "Unwrapping the greatest gift" by the same author. They help me to focus on the amazing fact that Jesus, the creator of the Universe decided to be born as a vulnerable baby because of his love for each one of us humans.

Our family has been enjoying the daily readings, and opening each advent box and hanging the little ornament cards on the popup tree. The little reading book has beautifully coloured illustrations and heart warming bible stories for the whole family, beginning with Genesis. If you're familiar with Ann Voskamp's other books you'll recognize her writing style. We look forward to reading this every year to welcome Christmas.

If you are 100 years old you’ll love this. If you’re a baby or anywhere in between you will love it. It is a beautiful way to add to your advent traditions. Or, start one, with this amazing creation. Ann Voskamp, thank you again.
