Poor quaity
I was not happy with this product from the time I took it out of the box. First the plug with fill indicator was hard to set in the tank, and I had to lube it to make it fit. Second. the hose that attaches the tank to the termination station was loose. I tightened it up (but not too tight), when I drained the black water it leaked. When it started to empty it at the dump station, the hose came off completely. What a mess!! Poor Quality control. I would not recommend this product.

Makes the dirty jobs easier.
Great product. Can use it without seeing or smelling the waste water. Nice features and good size to haul around. Any bigger is too heavy.

Easy to use no messy hoses to connect other than to camper... 3 runs to empty tanks is only issue but easier to carry to truck than big tanks

Poo Party
This is my second Thetford tote tank. My first was the earlier design and it was fantastic. This new design is a piece of junk. Upon connecting the hose to my trailer, it immediately fell apart spilling sewage everywhere. (Others have reported this as well) Recovering from that mess, I went to dump my tank to find out the fill hose spills out all the way to the dump station. Then when trying to connect the tank to my standard RV sewer extension hose, I found the new connector will not fit standard RV sewer fittings. Really? I wish I could fill the tank up and ship it back to Thetford... but it would leak all the way. Instead I an going to fix my old tank and throw this one away. If you can find an old Thetford tank buy it but I would not buy any of the new design models as they all share common fill hose design which is clearly flawed. How do companies go so wrong?

Simple, but functional. Hose fell off second use.
Review edited and lowered one star. The second time I used it the hose fell off and dumped sewage into the campground. The radiator clamp holding the hose on was loose. Not tightened at all really. Original post: Simple, but functional. A handy feature is the red, popup indicator showing that it is nearing full. That is better than over filling onto the ground. An added cost option is a rubber connector to attach to your ball hitch. I use a loop of 550 cord and two feet of that cost me about 10 cents. Wheels and axle look sturdy enough to pull behind the truck across the campground at 5 MPH. I would not use boondocking at Quartzsite 5 miles over rough roads to the dump station, but I am not doing that this year. This did not cost as much as the most heavy duty tote, but will serve my purposes. 18 liters is plenty heavy, I am glad I didn't buy a bigger one. 18 liters was big enough for two people for two days with us using the campground showers. Easy to fill with the female fitting to connect to the camper and the full indicator to avoid spills. It did not come with a female to male adapter for making a sealed connection when dumping. That is my only gripe about it.

I want a refund. Almost a Disaster
Absolute garbage. I want my money back.Bought this in June of this year, it is presently mid October. Today is the first time I used the product. It was a pain in the neck to set up because the overflow plug was never firmly attached. Once I figured that out I was able to fill it.I hook it up to my truck and drove to the dump which was about 1/4 mile away from my site. I drove 5 miles an hour over a paved road in the wheels practically fell off. Melted. I'm lucky I made it to the dump. This piece of garbage is worthless to me now. $110 before tax.I would like somebody to write back to me and return my money.UPDATE. I was fully refunded and the person on the phone was a pleasure to deal with

In the real world this thing should only cost about 30 bucks. Not impressed at all.
I'm always amazed at how much some things sell for. This is essentially a big plastic bucket with a hose. It is difficult to manage when it's full because it has no front wheel. You must pick it up and drag it behind you and it's quite heavy. If you don't have a strong back forget about it.

Should have purchased one years ago. A must have when camping in spots without a septic tank on every site. Dump......hitch up to car or truck (with hitch accessory) and bring to dump station. No need to un-setup trailer pull to dump station and re-setup. WELL WORTH THE MONEY. And cheaper than trailer accessory sights....and fast shipping!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The attached hose is a nice feature as is the vent
The system works well. The attached hose is a nice feature as is the vent. Problems I encountered were: 1)the sealing "o" ring gasket fell out after the second use and into the sewer disabling the use of the tank until I could find a replacement. 2)The wheels are not good for pulling the tank across rough grass and 3)the tank handle is not tall enough to allow me (of average height 5'11") to comfortably pull or push the tank to the sewer connection to dump. 18 gallons of liquid is too heavy for the design of this tank. For the price of this tank I had to find a hand truck to use when transporting to the nearest sewer connection.

Smart way to go
Couple with a longer drain hose, and don't trust it for long or bumpy towing. We load ours into the back of the truck, use a longer drain hose to empty it from there, then set it on the ground for rinsing. Still a chore, but less so than loading and moving an entire rv to the dumpsite.

Easy to fill, frustrating to empty
Shame on Thetford for not including the adapter that you need to empty the thing. We went through MUCH frustration trying to figure out how to dump the thing without having to stand in the sewer hole with our hands down the sewer drain. Thetford makes an adapter, part no. 40540 that has males prongs at each end so you can hook up your existing sewer hose/elbow. Oh, also word of caution - Tighten everything before first use or it may come undone at a very inconvenient time.

Two Stars
I've only used it twice and the hose is already cracked and split.
