Pure vl-62947 Radio, Grey

I already have a Pure DAB radio which is very good so thought I would try their internet radio. I wasn't impressed with the sticker not removing easily and leaving a residue in the corner of the screen, which I can't remove ( I think it might damage the screen with any pressure). Setting up wasn't too bad but the instructions weren't very helpful. I managed to connect to the router eventually and found the channels I wanted. All was well but had some electrical work done and the power had to be switched off. When it was restored I couldn't connect the radio so had to do a reset and go through the connection procedure again and find all the stations I wanted. All my other devices connected again without having to do this. The sound is not as good as my other Pure radio, I'm not sure if that's because it is coming from the internet. Some stations break up that are fine on the other one. You have much more choice of station but again some sound better than others. Some, more obscure ones, have the type of music I want but are not of great quality.

Needed a replacement DAB+ radio for the bedroom as my old one had started to lose some stations and had become a little erratic in operation after less than a year. Saw this particular model advertised elsewhere for £60 so naturally thought I check Amazon (as prices are often cheaper) and sure enough found it on offer at a steal. Set up is automatic; all I had to do manually was adjust the sound to my liking (increased bass & treble to +3 and +2 respectively) and preset my favourite 15 stations and I was all done after only 5 minutes or so. Sound quality is impressive for the price, the screen is a decent size for such a small unit (useful for displaying song titles and promotional messages etc.) and as an added bonus the radio also doubles as a clock with the time & date on constant display. Not used all the features yet and can't comment on battery life (as I'm using mains) but so far I'm delighted with this purchase.

I just wanted a good DAB radio to run off the mains, replacing an old radio that has lost the plot, and this one fits the bill perfectly. For a small radio it feels very solid and the buttons are very positive. It was very easy to set up and preset my favourite radio stations. Both reception and sound are very good. I also like the display which is very clear, track info comes up straight away and remains static on the screen instead of the rather slow scrolling of my old radios. I also like being able to change the station with just one touch of a button.I cannot find anything negative to say about it, however I only use it for digital radio, and only run it off the mains so I cannot comment on battery life or alarms.

Ideal kitchen radio. No issues with sound or overall quality. Great for music and talk based stations. Easy to set up presets etc. Volume is more than sufficient. Like the colour display screen.

Arrived ahead of time. I suspect that this was a re-packaged item - but since it was discounted I'm not particularlybothered. Auto tunes itself as soon as powered up and has a a great sound for its size (after a bit of tinkering with the equaliser). Large clear display is an improvement over the monochrome scrolling type on my prior radio. Not intending to utilize batteries, the alarm or timer so can't comment on these

An excellent little DAB radio. Sound quality for such a small unit is truly remarkable. As expected battery life is not the best, I can get two to three full days listening out of rechargeable batteries but I was expecting that. There is of course the option to connect it to a power supply and there is also the option to connect a device (phone, tablet etc) to the unit and play other music from so many different sources on those devices. Overall it does exactly what I wanted it to do so I'd recommend this to anyone.

Plug it in, switch it on and it tunes into the available DAB channels! Controls are straightforward and intuitive and the sound quality is good with settings for bass, treble and loudness. Nice colour screen with quick station info. Two alarms with settings for weekday, weekend, every day and buzzer/radio options. Screen at dimmest setting is still too bright for my liking but has the option to switch off completely after a user set-able time of 10 seconds to 3 minutes; I like the room dark! Overall an impressive little radio with a rich, clear sound and a decent level of bass!

Found the channels very quickly on first setup. We use the mains so can't comment on battery life etc, but one thing I do like is that even when it's unplugged for a day or two it still works immediately; no retuning!Sound is good compared to our old cheap Curry's DAB. Sure, it's not hifi quality but for a kitchen radio it's loud and the quality is good enough.If, like me, you hunt all the products and read tons of reviews before you buy, just go for it. It works great!
