Sony MPK-URX100A Underwater Housing - Black

Great case, I bought for my Sony rx100 m3, allows full functionality of the camera, looked at other makes but went for the Sony branded case in the end. It has allowed me to turn my camera into an all weather and water capture device which has great quality. Would recommend

I used it for a Sony RX100 IV. Worked very well. Went up to 40m with no problems. All controls worked with ease

Its well built but has a FATAL design flaw : the control wheel used to adjust one of aperture or shutter isn't accessible when in the case so MANUAL settings underwater cannot be used !! This is a really really bad design flaw and makes it unusable for hi quality underwater results in anything but the top 5 or 10m ... snaps !! If you use strobes in manual mode you're out of luck with this case. Should have gone for the Fantasea or Nauticam case even if they were a lot more.If you're serious about underwater photography this isn't the case for your RX100.

I love my Sony RX100M4 and so, when I was heading on holiday and planning to do a spot of diving this year, I had to find an underwater housing that fit it so that it could come with me. I'm not a serious underwater photographer and haven't splashed out on strobes or anything like that, so I wanted a relatively straight-forward housing that would enable me to get some great shots.The housing looks pretty good and I found it well-balanced in the hand. You have to remove the lanyard, if you use it, from your camera in order to pop it in the housing as there isn't huge amounts of room to spare, (which I wouldn't want - I don't need unnecessary bulk!), but this takes all of a few seconds. The housing has its own, larger, lanyard for peace of mind when using it.All of the functions that we required were very easily accessible via the housing and the large shutter release button is fantastic. We only used the built-in flash with the provided diffuser but, as most of our photos were taken in 10-12m water during sunny morning dives we've had nice, bright resulting photos. I am unable to comment upon using slaved strobes with the other attachments as this wasn't something that we used.I liked the fact that the housing has a double o-ring which gives peace of mind. The hinge and clasp work very well, allowing easy access when fitting the camera. The only thing to watch out for - as stated by the instructions - is that the rubber cog that's added onto the front of the camera is seated correctly. This can be checked whilst the case is still open.Overall I would highly recommend this case for the casual underwater photographer.

Had a very rare error with Amazon's shipping as this missed the initial trip I was needing it for.However, sending this back as I can't place my MKIII in this with the Sony rubber grip and wrist strap. Yes, this was very secure but I had to remove both in order for all of the buttons to function properly. Not ideal when you're on a trip and have Sony's other accessories.
