Though we have a few other brands, over the last few decades I've always tried to buy HP mice (for both work and home). But this one is disappointing. Called a "comfort" but frankly not as nice as one of their bog-standard old ps/2 business mice (such as model number 417441-002 of which I still have 3) or usb ones (674316-001). The buttons on the x1500 "comfort" model are somehow are over-sensitive AND over-loud (I've only ever known poor mice to be one or the other before now). And despite my extra-large male hands I find the two buttons a tad too wide. Action on screen is a tad jerky but frankly I've noticed this with all USB mice (corded and cordless) compared to the older PS/2 ones. Materials look ok but the only thing really going for this mouse is its looks, but that won't last because the whole shiny top of if is a fingerprint magnet - and that pretty shiny top will stick to any clammier hands in summer (it already sticks to mine in winter).

Q: are the cables thick ?

No, a bit thinner than say their business mice, its more typical of their home (pavillion/omen) mice. It's always a trade-off - I prefer thicker cables because they tend to be sturdier and last longer, but thinner ones of course don't tend to drag on the mouse-head as much.
