Can it be used without the cable and the rely on buying batteries? or does the cable charge the controller ?

Hi, GameSir G7 is a wired controller, so it cannot be used wirelessly. The handle doesn't have a battery. We have 3 meters of USB cable, so don't worry about the cable is not long enough, enough for you to use.

Not too sure mate my best advice is to bin it and get a wired controller these start disconnecting every five minutes

No but you can change the reaction times of the triggers if you have the app installed aswell as vibration etc..
