enjoyed this book emensely during lockdown
Fantastic fun for learning how to splice ropes both traditionally and with modern braided ropes too. Its not as complicated as it first seems and helped pass the time in Lockdown, plus I have a skill to boot! Highly recommended for rope enthusiasts. Written with sailors in mind but I think even dog walkers or other rope users would benefit from this book, as you can learn to make your own leads etc.

A first class guide to modern ropes and their uses.
This book not only gives clear pictorial explanations of a wide variety of rope splices but it also describes two methods for making soft shackles and has a detailed section on the various synthetic fibres used for modern ropes and how these ropes are constructed. It does not describe John Franta's method for making a locked splice (Brummel) in one end of a single braid Dyneema rope - this approach works well with very stiff ropes such as Colligo Dux.
