Good quality garden equipment
This is a good quality piece of garden equipment. Okay, it's not cheap but it's going to last a lot longer than the plasticky things from DIY shops and garden centres that are going to rip and fall apart after the first few winters; if they last that long (I know, I've bought them!). You get toughened glass and an aluminium frame that not only feels sturdy but looks good as well. The flexibility of shelving means it can be used in a variety of ways. The shelves can be hinged out of the way to give space to keep the winter frost off some larger potted plants standing on the ground or the shelves can be lifted back in place to hold a few rows of seed trays for the spring and early summer. The photo gives a good idea of what you will end up with. I put it together by myself in a leisurely morning but it would have been a lot easier with a helping hand. There is a good YouTube guide to go along with the illustrated step-by-step instruction booklet. (There are some minor variations in both, probably to do with slight changes in the production of models, but nothing that should bother anyone.) Having said that, I did have two nuts and bolts left over. I once shared a large house with some friends, one of whom seemed to constantly take his car apart and put it back together. As he was a methodical person he laid each part: nuts, bolts, brake pads etc. along the hallway floor in the order he removed them to make re-assembly more straightforward. Anyone who knows anything about British cars in the 1970s will know that a 1/2 inch nut was a standard part. When he was out of sight we used to sneak a couple of 1/2 inch nuts to the collection in the hallway so that when he put his car back together they would be left over. Of course he used to scratch his head and worrŷ about this but we used to reassure him and say things like "It's only your brakes. The're probably not very important." I wonder if the two nuts and bolts I had left over after assembling the growhouse is a kind of Karma?

Reasonably pleased with the product
Reasonably pleased with the product. As stated in other reviews it looks good and components are of good quality. Fiddly to put together but instructions reasonably good. A poor point seems to be front doors quite loose in their track and they are prone to rattle a little when windy. Bit disappointed that the large shelf has only 3 bars when there are holes for 4. This means the spacing between bars is uneven. Including one more bar would not have been an enormous cost considering the unit is quite expensive in the first place.

Excellent piece of kit
Really pleased with this piece of kit. I'd read the good reviews and I wasn't disappointed. Bit fiddly for one person to put together but the instruction video was extremely helpful. Delighted with the end product. Everything fitted well and no gaps anywhere. It's not something that can be thrown together quickly. Patience is probably the key and I had to rewind the instruction video several times . It came with a green infill plate for the back which seemed slightly odd as all the other parts were plain alluminium but it still looked good. Also, one of the end plates had an unexplained hole in it the size of a 50p piece but there was a black bung in the parts which took care of that. There's plenty of spare white and plastic liner left over for the top and bottom rails so I can renew it in future years. Having constructed it indoors because it's now early January, I was a bit worried how I was going to get outside by myself. I found it easy to move by climbing inside it. Even with the shelves already on, it was easy to climb inside the frame and then move it by holding the back rail and front rail in each hand and inching forwards slowly with the frame just off the ground. The top and front sliding glass panels are a doddle to remove and put back on which is a big bonus. Overall, I think it's well worth the money and it should last me for the rest of my life. . .

Reasonable for the price. Fairly easy to construct.
Pretty good. There are a few gaps between the glass panes but nothing out of the ordinary. It's only a growhouse after all. They could perhaps improve the way the top and front slide but it's not a problem.Construction took about two hours. It mostly went okay except for what seems a mistake on step one. When building the side panels the instructions have a box that says '4 bolts per end'. I think it should just say '4 bolts'. It's really not clear from the pictures but either you only use one bolt in each corner (two per side) or else they don't provide enough bolts in the packet. It'd also be better if the bolts were cross-head. My screwdriver kept slipping out of the slot with these and toward the end it was driving me spare. But hey - it's up. It looks like it will do the job so all's good.

Rubbish quality glass
Two pieces of glass broke really easily. This was bought to make part of a tortoise enclosure. Seeing how easy the glass broke, we replaced it all with Perspex as we didn’t feel it would’ve been safe. So, ok, the frame is ok but worked out quite expensive for all we could use of it.

Does the job
Comes flat packed. Assembly isn't hard. Sensible instructions to put it together. Took us about 1 hour.Living with it has raised some issues. The shelves can fall off at times and unless you use a seed tray, the pots can take a tumble and make an almighty mess. When wet the handle comes off the top glass. The sliding glass on the top sticks to each other when wet. Muck and soils gets into the runners, which are wider than you'd want it.Overall, we like it despite its few short comings. Value for money.

Well made and clever design
Having had several cold frames in the past which have not lasted very well, I am very impressed with this.It was relatively straightforward to put up, helped by an online video.I also like its design , it has sliding top and front glass panels or you can easily take out the panels altogether and there are 2 adjustable shelves. So if you can't afford or do not have space for a full greenhouse this growhouse is well worth a look at. You can get a lot of plants in it.It is made of robust aluminium and the glass is toughened and has already withstood several named storms last February.
