They work and hold things tightly closed.
I've no idea why they are so expensive, but they just are and these are about the cheapest that does the job. We have children in the house plus windows that theoretically open wide enough to just let a child squeeze through. Knowing what I got up to as a child, I've been fitting these. You can either adjust them so that strong adult fingers can still open them - or tighter still, needing a tool to open them. They are probably strong enough that the wood holding the screws will fail before they do. I'm not sure if that is a good idea or not - ideally, if someone is going to break in - I'd rather that they broke something that is cheap and easy to replace. Which hardwood windows and frames aren't.

Window locks
Additional security for wooden windows with shepherd crook type closing. Easy to fit, only issue was with one of the four locks and a turn screw with flattened thread. Made key operation impossible so could only use 3 of the 4 locks.

Quality product
The locks were delivered on time. The cost was reasonable.

Excellent design
Simple, strong and easy to fit with two screws for each section. The illustration shows the lock open, with two screw holes showing. When the lock is closed the screws are covered by the bracket on the right which swivels over them. Turning the key locks the bracket in place. A neat and unobtrusive way to firmly secure windows.

Works as expected
Bought 4-pack for use with wooden windows. Good value at ยฃ16.99, though heck knows how Yale have the cheek to suggest an outrageous RRP of ยฃ50. Arrived securely packed but withoout Yales retail packaging, which I guess is because the seller buys bulk and sends them with minimal item wrapping, enabling the competitive price and reducing the amount of waste plastic which is a good thing. Came with good instructions and screws. Only one key but additional keys can be sought separately. I found that a suitable sized Allen key (5mm I think) works just as well.Easy to fit by anyone with the most basic DIY skills and a screwdriver. A sharp chisel may also be useful - I found the lock worked most efficiently when the lock staple is at 90 degrees to the hasp. As my windows frames have a slight slope inwards away from the face of the opening casement, I achieved a better fit by slighly paring off the frame with a sharp chisel so that the lock staple could be seated flat.

Rubbish screws
What was going to be a 15 minute job ended up taking me half the morning. I've fitted plenty of these before and never had to struggle. the problem with these is the screw heads break off when they are tightened. I had to reposition the locks and dig through my screw collection to find suitable replacements. Very Annoying!I just hope the lack of screw quality is not indicative of the lock durability..MAKE SURE TO USE YOUR OWN SCREWS
