Dimplex M-011B Opti-Myst Electric Fire Heater Glass Disk Transducer

Brought my Dimplex fire back to life! Arrived within 24 hours too which was unexpected but appreciated! Did all the usual stuff, gave it all a good clean, checked the fan was running etc and seemed that it was most likely that the transducter had packed in as it’s been patchy at misting up for a few months now and recently just stopped altogether (it’s had the original in since 2017 so not fared too badly!) So easy to swap out the old for the new although it’s not exactly the same as the original (missing the part that sticks out underneath to keep it in place so the wire doesn’t cross over the top of it) but regardless it’s worked and I’m all set for a cosy Autumn! Read other reviews saying it doesn’t last half as long as the original that came with the fire so I hope I’m not amending this in a couple of months time! Going to look at how to replace the disk in the transducter as it’s probably cheaper than buying a new thing each time, but that can wait for another day as I’ve got to put my feet up by the fire now! 🔥 ** Update (exactly one year later) - fire stopped working after a year of use with the replacement part, would light up then click off as soon as the mist was supposed to begin. Bought again and the problem has solved again, so it looks like it has around a 12 month life which isn’t terrible but not as good as the original which lasted about 4 years. Regardless we’re working again so I’m happy, will actually look into learning how to replace the disk for next time!

I've had my Dimplex optiflame for for over ten years and I realised I had bought this transducer 4 years ago when the original failed. I also bought one 5 months ago when that replacement failed. That was a cheaper one at quarter of the price. I should have known that it wouldn't last. In fact it went into overdrive and water was coming off it like a fountain and mist was unable to be controlled. It flooded the fire! The replacement, this one, seems fine. I asked the supplier for assurance that it was a genuine Dimplex part. The reply was yes. If it lasts as long as the previous one (4 years) i'll be happy. Expensive but it works.

Always buy dimplex product. Cheeper versions do not work

This is not the Dimplex original fire stoped working November engineer came last week not even the right number it’s a copy it has coursed problem with fire should not be addvertised as original I am 73 years old dident look at the no just put it in I am now having to save to get repairs done coursed by this

Another example of you get what you pay for! Previously used two of the cheap transducers and yes they worked, just! But were noisy, got through so much water and didn’t really kick out much “smoke”. Finally forked out for a genuine part and I’d forgotten what a proper transducer should do! This is way better

Arrived very quickly less then 24 hours, only a few minutes to install and my beautiful fire was back up and running, the only critical point I’d like to address is you can buy cheaper if you choose a different manufacturer, and are willing to wait longer for delivery I wanted my fire up a running ASAP so choose the makers own .
