EAG 2/4 Door Roof Rack Cargo Basket with Wind Deflector 2 PCS Fits for 07-18 Wrangler JK

The rack came packaged well. There was a small amount of (rust dust) near the ends that go together. There are small holes in the ends of the tube where it goes together. I believe the rust is from the untreated interior. (Though I could be I wrong.) The rust wiped right off with a rag damp with alcohol. Other than that the finish looks good. If it rusts later I will pull it off and repaint it. From the reviews I saw i kind of expected to have to do that anyway, but I saw no need for now. I put a little black silicone over the holes before I bolted the two pieces together. Hope that will seal it. I put the rack together on the ground and then put it on the roof. Very easy that way. Just had my wife help put it up there. Install was easy. The rack looks good. Seems very sturdy. Same brand as my front bumper that I am very happy with. Now I just have to pick out a rear bumper.

I needed a rack for my 2dr JK and looked at every brand. Was doubtful about this rack until I saw one on another Jeep and talked with the owner who loved it. So I went ahead and ordered and could not be happier. I found it easy to install and if you put it on like the instructions say one part at a time you can do it by yourself. Helps to have a cargo blanket handy to say your hardtop's paint. A bit of fiddling with the bolts to get everything aligned but then wow.The rack is very sturdy and looks great. One bonus I did not even think about is it is a great handhold for standing in the doors. The rack is solid and heavy duty and the price is outstanding. A good purchase.

This roof rack feels super sturdy. A lot of reviews talked about rust on it when it arrived. Mine didn't have any. However, to help it last longer, I ended up spray painting it with a matte all-weather metal black spray paint before installing. No issues so far. Installation was easy.Edit: It's been about a month and I've taken it camping at the beach twice already (about 7 days of constant sand) and it's been holding quite well. It just started to get some rust in the connections/welded areas. This is expected since I just took metal to a beach... But just FYI for those expecting this to never rust.

There are many options for a rack, but I'm not into the RTT (I see plenty that have never been opened on all types of vehicles, I guess people love the drop in MPG), so I only need it for camping gear and such. I also am not looking to pay crazy money for something that is not used everyday. The other thing that sold me on this was the no drilling, not a fan of drilling into the roof.So like others said, you may need to do some touch ups to get the spots that were missed by the sprayers at the factory. I use Rustoilum spray can bed liner and black rtv sealant, I did this after opening and inspecting for a few days. I also got nylocs to replace the given nuts, just my personal preference. I was also going to add some door trim to put on the edges of the gutter mount, but it ended up not giving enough space, so I had to remove. Over all, everything went smoothly, take your time and it should be good. The rack is a little heavier than it looks, so be careful. I did use a movers blanket on the roof and some empty water bottles to hold the back part in place while I loosely fit everything. Do one window hinge at a time and you might want to set the gutter mounts on before you tighten the center and the gutter mounts. I had to loosen/tighten a few times before I got it right. Not the best looking of all the racks, but very sturdy and will do the job at almost half the price. Not to mention it's not hard to completely remove if you need to! Yes, you can still remove the front part of the roof with this still on.

Nice rack! Just buy it. Arrived a couple of days earlier than expected. Material was packaged well and installation was a breeze. No rust like some reviews say, awesome finish that surprisingly matched my rock rails/side steps perfectly. Some reviews say it’s a 2 person install, but only if you’re a #%!#%. Installed it by myself by FOLLOWING THE INSTRUCTIONS. Took me two hours from the time I opened the box to tightening up the last bolt. Listing says it can handle 300 lbs but I wouldn’t push it, also saw a guy with a roof top tent - Wouldn’t recommend it for that, but great for loading up some extra gear and hitting the trails. Planning to mount a roam overland box to mine.

Rack looked good but in less than a year, it hasCompletely rusted, cheap paint has chipped off and isNow unsafe for use.Contacted the seller e-autogrilles and was ignored, emails not returned.Also have other EAG products on my Jeep that I now hope last....would look elsewhere and other brands.

This is a really solid roof rack for the money. I painted the front yellow with Rustoleum. Super easy to install however I’ll say this... I think it’s stupid that the directions say to put the two pieces on separately and then try to link them together. After doing it it makes way more sense to put them together on the ground and then mount the entire thing. I also had to put some washers in the connection so make it more level, it seems to dip a bit. I did it myself and had to use ratchets to pull the front part down hard enough to get the bolts to align on the clamps. If it were a $1,000 rack I’d be bummed for these minor issues but for this price I’m thrilled.
