The Alpacas Of Stormwind Farm

Amazing book with lots of valuable information - perfect for beginners
I am new to Alpacas. After looking at most of the books available on Amazon, I decided to go with the book from Ingrid Wood. It was shipped and delivered fast and was exactly what I need to learn more about Alpacas since I am seriously planning on starting to breed Alpacas. I loved the book so much that I actually included it as a resource for my final for my Bachelor. What I love most about the book is that I can tell how much Ingrid and her husband love the animals and the farm work. The book is not too technical, which made it very enjoyable to read. Ingrid included mistakes they made during raising and breeding Alpacas and explains every decision they made. By explaining why she made certain decisions, I learned a lot about the animals behaviors and realized how much I agree with Ingrid's processes and actions. I love how much valuable information I received and marked every single one in the book while reading it. Ingrid's story starts with purchasing land, building up the farm, and purchasing their first animals. This gave me hope that I can do the same; that it is possible to start from scratch if you put some work into researching and planning. Ingrid also concentrated on factors that influence raising Alpacas that most people don't cover in their books. For example, she included facts about flowers, trees, wild animals, agriculture, and fertilization of the fields. The writing style kept me focused and made me smile on several occasions. I felt like part of the family and was touched by all the happy and sad emotions that Ingrid and her husband experienced.

gave some decent insight
we are looking into getting just a few alpacas and this was an interesting book to read about how they raise alpacas. Kind of a story form to get ideas vs. the general care texts we also have read.

interesting account of life with alpaca
I found this a good story about what life is like on an alpaca farm. Not every farm is like this, but it is an entertaining perspective.

The Perfect Alpaca Book
This book is the perfect book for someone thinking about starting an alpaca farm. It's a sensitive look at these wonderful animals, and provides real insight into what life could be like with these companion animals in their pastures. It's not really a how to, but there is basic information that should help you make up your mind. Well written and entertaining!

Animal Lovers Enjoy
Alpacas are not your normal backyard animal in America, so my interest in them impelled me to look at them from the point of view of a caregiver. Ingrid wood is a special lady. She is more than a caregiver. She loves and appreciates alpacas as alpacas and gives them the right to do what is natural to them while still taking good, thoughtful care. A very interesting, even moving, experience. Well worth the read.

Some Very Happy Alpacas
This tells a great deal of what it is like to have alpacas, and of what they are and what they could possibly be. She takes the horror out of restrained sheering; alpaca trust extends even there.
