The Monorail SC fits directly to Schmidt-CassegrainsImprove your Meade or Celestron SC / Maksutov telscope with a really superb focuser. Mirror shifting will not be any problem any more. Additionally, you can focus more precise than with the standard main mirror system.Advantages of the TS Monorail focuser:-- Higher load rating than normal Crayford focusers. Instead of small ball bearings, a massive stainless steel rail is used. -- Precise guiding of the drawtube, no shifting when the locking screw is tightened. -- Smooth travel and fine focus adjustments even under high load -- Dual speed with 1:10 Mikro transmission for precise focusingTechnical details:-- 2" Monorail focuser with brass tension ring at the 2" and 1.25" terminal -- Minimum height from telescope flange to 2" barrel: 112mm -- Telescope flange: 2" female SC thread -- Travel: 50mm, with mm and inch scale -- Weight: 860 g incl. 1.25" reducer -- Housing thickness: 4.3mmWe do not recommend this focuser for fork-mounted SC telescopes. - Because of the focuser's length (112mm), it would hit the base of the fork mount at higher elevations.Scope of delivery:-- 2" Monorail focuser with telescope flange -- Brass compression ring for 2" accessories-- 1.25" reducer with brass compression ringThe function of the Crayford's ball bearings is take over by a massive stainless steel rail that is fixed to the drawtube. Nothing can be bended any more. Lateral guiding is performed by ball bearings who only have to do this function - they don't have to deal with pressure loads.

Beautiful
This is a hefty bit of kit to have hanging off the back of the 'scope - very solid. Focusing is now spot on - smooth as silk and once done, can be locked. Top screw locks focus, bottom screw adjusts tension / drag. Be careful when re-orientating this as it is held on to the back of the 'scope by 1 screw - very slightly loosen, rotate, then re-tighten ! You will need an adapter if you are fitting 2" diagonal to this - same fitting as a 2" eyepiece sleeve ! I have this on the back of a 9.25 sct (CG-5 mount) and it safely carries: 2" diagonal, binoviewers, x2 zoom eyepieces / Canon EOS camera with attachments - no problems at all! CPC / fork mounted 'scopes will probably have problems with this as it is approx' 4" long ??

Well made snd useful kit.
I have had this since March as I found the knob on my celestron Slt 127 Makcas too sensitive. I always felt like a safe cracker. I also use a dslr camera and the telescope knowb was then behind the camera and difficult to access. So I bought this. You need a thread adaptor as the barrel is 2', the scope has a 1.5' thread. Adaptor was £20ish.Now with my Crayford I can achieve focus quickly and with more ease. This is a heavy piece of kit, all metal, and I had to adjust my motor slew setting. Easy to do.It holds my camera well with a Tring, has options for 2' eyepieces and looks cool too.Worth the investment.
