I love the Quilting Halo!! - Deena McLarty, Corinth, TX
I love this quilting halo! I have control over the speed, my stiches are smaller and more consistent, even stitches. I do, however have a challenge getting over a small "bump" where my sewing machine is set into the cabinet. I have an old Elna Carina and the cabinet is a Singer cabinet. My designs are a bit smaller than I would prefer, but I will get the hang of it! The quilt I quilted last night had a larger motif, so I guess I am on the right track. I have seen a youtube (or is it utube?) of a quilter using two halos stacked on top of one another, and I may (or may not!) try that. At any rate, I am thankful that I have the halo - it is great and my allover quilt designs look MUCH better (of course, that comes with practice!). I LOVE IT!

Still Learning to use
I am fairly new to free motion quilting so I am trying to find what products work the best for me. I ordered this hoop along with a pair of Machingers quilting gloves to figure out what worked best. I preferred the gloves over this hoop. I felt like I had more control with the gloves. The hoop did not seen to grab the fabric and move it the way I thought it would.I do not have a sewing machine that is set in the table. I was using this with an extension table. Maybe you need a larger area for this hoop to work well. I am not giving up on it yet. Since I am new to FMQ I feel lIke I will come back to this and try it again once I have improved on my skills.

Useful, but might work better on a larger project
I saw this demonstrated on a quilting show and decided to try it. I'm learning how to do free-motion quilting on my home sewing machine. The halo is weighted and helps you to be able to move the quilt around. It functions a little like an embroidery hoop. I found it useful and I think on a large project it would be a really big help ... but I was working on a small project (a table runner) and when I got near the edges it kind of got in the way. Still, I like it and will continue to use it. It is a lot easier than trying to grip the fabric to hold it taut.

Quilt Halo
This product does work if you have a wide machine bed and a LaPeirre Studio Supreme Slider under it. I purchased the Supreme Slider but do not have a wide machine base or set in sewing table. I have used this on a baby quilt but have to be careful about repositioning it often so it doesn't fall off the back, side or front of my machine bed. Now I need to purchase a clear plexiglass extention table for my machine (see the ones here [...]). I gave it a 4-star rating for those reasons. Over all, it is a great product and well worth the price.

Love the Halo...buy two!
I first saw the Halo at a quilt show and did not purchase it. I then hunted for years for it with no luck, until I got smart and check Amazon! I haven't used it a lot but I really liked it every time I have used it. I bought two as the woman demonstrating it years ago at the quilt show recommended that the weight of two Halos was even nicer to use than one. I don't remember what I paid, but it was a better price than at the show. this is a nice item that I would recommend to my quilting friends. I have used it for quilted purses and small wall hangings. I have not used it for a large project. Hope this helps.

False Advertising?
Why does your picture show TWO hoops when you only sell ONE hoop per purchase? I can't begin to describe my disappointment on receiving just one hoop for $22. My arthritic hands need more than one small hoop to move about...but another $22 for another hoop? Seems very pricey at that point, $44 for what I saw in the picture for $22? False advertising comes to mind...shame on you!!!I gave you 3 stars because I do love the idea and the way it works, but a thicker (2 hoops) tool would feel so much better for my hands to grasp.

great concept
I really can't find fault with this because I did like it, but it didn't work with my sewing machine. You really need a table large enough so that the ring sits flat. I would try a smaller one, but haven't been able to fine one either on Amazon or any place else

Makes quilting easier
This is a great product and makes quilting much easier and more comfortable for my arms and shoulders. I sometimes stack two of them to give me more control. I would have given it 5 stars, except one of my halos is slightly warped. It still works, even stacked with the other one, but I would love it if it lay flat.
