Chef Kitchen Knife - Professional Japanese Damascus 8 inch Blade with VG-10 Stainless Steel, Beautiful Handcrafted 67 layer Ultra Sharp

I'll start first with the knife itself. It seems very well built and there has been a lot of care and thought that went into the design. The Damascus pattern actually looks like the images, which seems to be very rare in the world of damascus. The knife is well balanced, and not incredibly heavy. It is my go to for precision cuts, as it handles similar to a petty knife. I find myself grabbing this more often than my Shun or Wusthof. To top it off, it came SHARP. Out of the box it is the sharpest knife in my kitchen.To top all of this off Nunchi customer service is amazing. They have taken care of any concern I had quickly and effectively.

I bought this knife for my husband because he complains that we don't have a "really good knife". He loves this knife, his review of it is;This knife is really nice. The packaging is a very nice touch. As a woodworker, the true test of sharp is whether or not a blade will cut the hairs off the back of your hand or forearm, this shaved them bare. It is beautifully balanced as well. The wood handle with metal end cap is a very nice touch. I've used the knife several times now on meat, vegetables, and for chopping herbs. It performed great and is every bit as sharp as when it came out of the package. Would definitely recommend.

Got it for a friend as a housewarming gift. I haven't personally used it beyond a quick cut, but all in all it's a nice looking knife, matches his cocobolo cabinets, and cuts sharp out of the box.*personally*, it didn't have the heft or weight I like / prefer in my own 8" Dalstrong... I think it has to do with the Dalstrong having a wider blade and (maybe?) a bit thicker). I'm not a pro cook and don't have a lot of data to compare against... just sharing personal opinion.Overall, I like the knife... I would certainly give it as a gift again and I wouldn't complain if I received one myself.

The only thing that i can say is that upon recieving the knife in it's nice looking storage box, I went to open it and to my suprise i was met with a sharp pain and blood running out of the palm of my hand. After cleaning myself up and inspecting the knife box, it was found that the knife tip had punctured the end of the box and therefore stabbing me. Please add more reinforcement to the box or change it so it's safer, may I recommned a small plastic tip sleeve. Sorry for the negative info here, but still 5 stars on the knife, love it.

My fiancé is by no means a professional chef, but he is definitely a whiz in the kitchen. He had been researching chef’s knives so I decided to beat him to it and purchase one as a birthday gift. (Its a win-win, really. I buy a knife and I get to eat like a king while he thinks he’s Gordon Ramsay in the kitchen)Thanks to his Amazon search history I knew that he wanted a Japanese Damascus Steel knife so I ended up choosing this knife. And the gorgeous wooden handle is a great bonus.We were both blown away by this knife. For some reason I didn’t expect it to be as sharp as it is. I thought we’d have to have it sharpened by a professional...nope. This thing is seriously sharp out of the box, so watch out.Overall, I highly recommend this knife.

I am very impressed by this knife. A knife in this price range I expect to be very sharp, very well designed for it's intended purpose, very well finished, and durable. I have to say that this knife has full filled all of those expectations. It is very sharp, it is very well finished with a beautiful wood handle that fits my hand perfectly. The laminated steel is very attractive. I expect that this will be a knife that i can pass along to my grandchildren.

I like the night but I keep getting the wrong one. I’m ordering the kitchen nice and this is the second time I received the wrong knife. The label on the box is right, but the product inside the box is the wrong.

This is a high quality knife. I found the weight was perfect for me. Slices through vegetables with ease a total workhorse. A stunning piece of steel. Worth every dime. Customer service is excellent. If you have questions they respond in a timely manner. Do not hesitate to purchase.
