Ring.com - great if you have time for a Beta product set.
Has to be within 2 meters of the router, no matter what the spec says. Mine was delivered in Feb 2017 and broke in June 2017. A new one is being despatched for free, which is good. The whole 'ring' thing is really early days and strikes me as more 'Beta' than release. They had to send me out a free Chime Pro (wireless extender) as my doorbell kept dropping off the network. It was around 4 meters away from the router and the doors are all single glass. No reason why it shouldn't stretch that far. Also, despite constant advice to the contrary from their support team, the thing just slows to a crunch and stops being usable when the battery gets low.I noticed a massive improvement in usability of the Ring Doorbell in connection with 'Someone being at the Door' when I upgraded to my Iphone 6s Plus. With my standard iPhone 6, the visitor would more often than not give up and leave before the camera had connected. Just too slow. Again, signs of more testing and over stating minimum specs, which young companies often do in the tech industry. Now I'm trying to setup Ring Doorbell with Alexa and the Skill isn't showing up in the Alexa Skill store. Ring.com advice;.contact Amazon. I mean, seriously, is that the best you can do? What a waste of time. I suspect that Ring just haven't published it to the UK store yet.

Cheap product alert.I have had two devices for 6 months now.Do not buy this product because there is a product fault. If you use the UK adapter the contacts don't make contact properly and therefore don't power the device. You can wiggle the device and it will provide power only to lose it again if the device is knocked or the weather changes. I have also worked around this problem by using a EU adapter or the US adapter and then plugging it into another adapter. This works great but looks like a pigs ear and has extra cost involved. I have been in contact with Ring and basically they don't care or can't afford to chance the way the power is supplied to the device.

Good
I like this product. It's great to be able to select different ring tones and volumes and you can also toggle whether or not you want audible alerts for motion sensing too.Set up is via the app on your phone which takes about 5 minutes. I would have given 5 stars but my chime lost contact with the router and then for some reason couldn't 'see it.'Some people have said that there is a delay between the bell button being pressed and the chime sound but I haven't noticed this myself. Both my phone and chime sound at the same time.Would I recommend this? Yes.The funny thing is that I bought this so that I could tell Amazon drivers to just leave the parcel on the doorstep but the driver yesterday refused saying that he needed to physically hand it to me.

Poor product, bad design and buggy.
Loses its connection to the ring doorbell approximately once a month whereupon I have to remove it from the app and re-add it. Does not give any indication or warning and appears to be working correctly until someone tries to ring your door bell and you hear nothing from it. Another fail from Ring. (please note I work in I.T and I have my entire house rigged with smart products).

Hard to improve on this addition to the doorbell.
Hard to say how good it is at what it does. It allows me to have the doorbell ring upstairs and downstairs so you know someone is at the door. They are great fun as the app has themed sounds for Halloween and Christmas which provides more than a giggle or talking point. I would say the only improvement that could be made is a flashing light to accompany the very loud noise to help the hard of hearing be more alert to the bell being pushed.

Product doesn't work for me
Absolutely useless product, matched only, in my experience, by Ring's even worse 'customer service'. I've got the Ring Video Doorbell, which works fine and is great. The Chime, however, connects to my WiFi network (if I'm lucky!) occasionally and then has persistently dropped off a few days later - it then can't see (or connect to if I manually type in the information) to the SSID, which is not hidden, to which (on rare occasions) it previously connected! After the first couple of times this happened I contacted Ring who said I'd obviously got a faulty product and to their credit they sent me a replacement, which was nice of them, but the same thing happened... and kept happening. When I finally decided to call it a day after trying and failing (again!) to get it to connect to the WifFi SSID it has (on rare occasions) had no trouble connecting to, I contacted Ring and asked for a refund. They sympathised a lot with my situation and even said I had done everything possible to trouble-shoot the problem, but said it was 'not their policy' to give me a refund because I'd brought it from Amazon and not directly from them: by this time it was beyond the date I could return it to Amazon so I'm stuck with this useless blob of plastic. If I could give zero stars I would!UPDATE: To be fair to Ring, my Chime still does not work, but their customer service department got back in touch with me and offered to compensate me for the situation I find myself in by offering a free year's subscription to the Ring Video doorbell online recording service. Still frustrated about not being able to use my Chime, which still does not work, but Ring should be commended for providing a free year's service when they didn't need to.

very pleased, instructions absolutely superb If I had to be ...
Overall , very pleased , instructions absolutely superbIf I had to be critical , don’t want to be , the chimes ( I have two ) are fussy and do not connect / stay connected quite as they should .I have 70 plus MBs on a Google mesh wi.fi so no shortage of speed , I get the impression the name of the game is to flog the Chimes Plus with with wi.fi boost , which is s bit sneaky .But overall an excellent product so 5 stars 👍
