Brilliant
brilliant piece of kit, as a 'feeble' female I struggled with turning compost over with a garden fork, this makes the job so easy

Good, cheap and does the job
Good, cheap and does the job. One of the blades has dislodged after a few months use, but used plyers to put back in place. Hence the 4*.

Great little tool
Update on my review. I wasn't holding out much hope based on some of the reviews I'd read but I'm very pleasantly surprised with this tool. It works really well and makes such a difference to a clogged up compost bin! Wish I'd bought one years ago! I can see that the arms could buckle if it's particularly hard matter but my compost bin was quite compacted and it's worked brilliantly.

Works well but needed a slight modification
The first time I used it the 'prongs' doubled back on themselves as I pulled it back out of the compost bin. However, I simply bent the metal tabs that are meant to prevent this further round and it's been fine ever since. I found the easiest way to bend the tabs was to clamp the tabs in a bench vice and use the handles of the aerator to twist it.

Nice tool, slightly concerned about reliability, but it was not an expensive item.
Works better than I expected, really useful. Hesitate to give it 5*, given a few posts about reliability, but will update in a few weeks.

Not really up to the job !
This is the second one that's failed. It works well when new but the first one only lasted two weeks when the two "wings" slipped over the retaining lips on the end of the shaft and wouldn't turn or aerate the compost at all as they were just hanging loose. The company replaced it FOC (great service and no quibble) but after using it twice a month for the past six months, exactly the same problem has happened again. I wouldn't get another one of these.

Compost aid
Bought this for hubby, but we haven't had it long enough yet to fully assess this item. However, it arrived quickly and it is fully assembled (which I must admit surprised me). On the one and only usage to date, it appears to work as it should and seems sturdy enough. But time will tell. Storage is a little tricky, with the right angled nature of the implement, but we have been able to find a spot for it. So therefore I give it a qualified 5 star at this stage

This 'aerator' just doesn't do it!
The compost aerator broke the first time I used it! I pushed the spike down into the compost bin and as I pulled it back up again the 'arms' are pulled down over the metal so it couldn't do its job. The design looks ok but it was poorly made, too much 'play' at the joint, so the arms don't stay out to pull the compost back up.
