Carlube XMG030 Lithium Multi-Purpose Grease Cartridge

Bought to lubricate the stern gland of a narrowboat. Does the trick, smooth propulsion and no leaks!

Great value, even if you dont have a gun for this just scoop it out.

This is the perfect stuff for calliper rebuilds and pad-replacement. A thin smear on the pistons protects them from moisture and won't degrade or warp your seals. A thin smear on the back of the new pads will prevent brake squeal. A thin smear on your floater pins will protect against corrosion and keep your callipers moving freely (floating callipers). Note, in all cases 'a THIN' smear! One tube should last a very long time. If you find one tube only lasts one rebuild, then you have used WAY too much grease around your brakes to be safe! In my opinion, silicone grease beats copper grease for calliper rebuilds as 1) It's silicone based, so won't swell your seals and rubber dust boots (the carrier in copper grease is petroleum based and will ruin your seals). 2) It's rated to higher temperatures and will not melt and run into areas you don't want it. 3) it gives excellent protection against moisture and won't dry our a crumble into dust (copper grease tends to).

This has to be the one "essential garage item" I'd been missing for years and years. I've found this useful in so many ways. A tiny dab onto hinges cures creaks with (in my view) less mess and a longer lasting result than spraying WD40 on them. I've used it on the back of brake pads on the car to stop them seizing onto the calipers, and a little bit in the hinge mechanism even got my trusty Honda CRV's folding mirrors folding again. Best of all, it doesn't seem to wash away easily in the rain. Having done a fair bit with it, I've barely made any dent in the contents of the pot - I suspect this'll be around for a long time. The pot itself is quite a nice little tin with press-on lid. This works fine in the garage, but didn't enjoy being shipped in a jiffy bad quite so much - a little bit of a leak - probably better shipped in a small box. A must have for any homeowner, DIYer!

Seems ok. Just received so time will tell. Bought for 1/10th RC vehicles so is good as not to thick as some marine grease. Lid was of inside packaging so delivery not so great as was just in box with no protection. We all know what happens when you drop a tin with lid filled with heavy contents.

It's a lot thinner than I'd like, perfect for very lightly greasing O-rings but not ideal for calliper guide pins. I prefer a thicker grease that sticks to the pins and fills the rubber boots and won't flow out. I've tried massaging the tube to mix it up and shaking it but it's still too thin. However this is perfect for compressed air O-rings and as a rubber friendly assembly lubricant when used very sparingly. I bought this to replace the 3M Paste which comes in a larger can and is double the price per ml. The brush applicator makes the 3M much easier to apply but the difference in thickness means I will buy both and use them for different tasks.

I was a bit sceptical to be honest as I wanted it to hopefully cure an irritating leak in our tin top convertible - a Peugeot 206 cc to be precise - and once this item arrived I tried it straight away and at first, not much happening as it still leaked but only slightly compared to before a day after applying it. Weekend came and had another look and got a bit on the end of my finger - could be tricky if you used your toe.. - and put another 'layer' on and after two recent downpours, by cracky it seems to be working!. While I am saying 'it seems to be working' in our case that's not to say it will work for everybody else but at the price, its worth a try. For the technically minded, I put/smeared a slight coating along the rubber seal both top and side facing the driver and if anything it gives it a slight sheen to it instead of the usual 'dull rubber' look as in normal but other than that, there is nothing to say it looks messy or anything like it but as i have pointed out, so far it seems to be working. 10/10 :)

La consistencia del producto es muy mala es como un líquido líquido que chorrea y no se adhiere a todas partes y se comporta mucho más como un aceite que como una grasa por lo tanto no sirve para su cometido. El primer producto lo devolví por este motivo pero el segundo era igual con lo cual entiendo que estas son las características del producto y no un error por ello me parece que es muy poco apropiado como grasa

Graisse cuivré en bonne quantité et à prix ajusté. Parfait comme agent anti grippage pour écrou et tout assemblage à haute température.
