Handy and Effective
Great sharpener, needs used right and is limited by the same things as any other continuous surface sharpener (see below). On the other hand, being so thin, it's ideal for putting an edge back on slightly worn router bits. The smooth surface is great for sharpening points and small blades which usually get stuck or damaged on the holes of perforated type sharpeners. The edge it leaves is pretty good, smooth and ready for a final hone if you want a razor sharp finish. I carry this in my pocket while chiselling to touch up the edge when it starts to blunt in hardwood - takes a couple of strokes! As with all diamond sharpeners, clean it off regularly and never press too hard - the diamonds are tiny but sharp - they do the work for you, pressing harder might temporarily speed the sharpening up a bit, but it wears the diamond coating far faster, and can strip them out of the metal backing they're bedded into. At first the diamond coating takes a little bit of use to "wear in" to the correct grit and "smoothness" you'd expect from an Extra Fine card. This is true of every diamond sharpener I've ever seen. I find that simply rubbing the flat of an old knife over the surface for a short while does this quickly and effectively. You can feel the difference with your finger after just a dozen strokes or so. Having no perforations or dents in this design makes it far more prone to clogging. With a continuous surface like this, when you notice it clogging, take it to the sink and give it a scrub with pretty much any abrasive "cream cleaner" and it comes up like new. A handy tip to get it clean if it's resisting is to use a piece of cork (wine bottle one will do) to rub the cleaner into the surface thoroughly - stops you scouring off your fingerprints!

Good for a quick honing
I find these DMT sharpening cards ideal for a quick honing during a turning project. A couple of quick wipes over a wood turning tool bevel and the tool is ready to continue giving a clean cut.

Great sharpers and really handy.
These are really handy. I use to sharpen my wood turning chisels. I don’t always need to use my grinder so having these in my back pocket is a bonus. They are not cheap but hopefully they will last a long time. I have coarse, fine and extra fine for just honing my chisels in between projects.

These have been brilliant. I bought them to bring some rather tired kitchen knives back to life, and going through all three has got them so sharp that my girlfriend is nervous of using them! The coarse one even let me remove some quite deep nicks in the blade, so it does remove quite a lot of material. The only thing missing from the kit is something to "stick" the plates down as you use them. I ended up cutting out a section of one of those dashboard mats that hold your phone in place, and it works perfectly.

Good kit with the right grits for all types of sharpening
Good kit with the right grits for all types of sharpening. Quality feel & weight and leaves a good edge for woodturning chisels, knives and router bits.

DMT mini hones
Very good mini hones, I use mine for sharpening my router bits etc. Some of my diamond coating did come off on the first sharpening so i have a little bold spot at the front. Bought some DMT double sided stones too which are much better quality. DMT really must improve there customer service, i have emailed them a number of times regarding my faulty hone and have got no response.

excellent
My father has the trend card with 2 grits on 1 card and after using I needed to buy my own for sharpening drill and router bits. The 3 cards arrived in great condition and i'm happy with them.

I have a heavy duty French mandoline slicer and didn't want to have to buy a new piece because the cutting edge became dull. This small form factor sharpening tool did a quick job of restoring my edge. Best part is that it's compact enough that I didn't have to take the mandoline apart. I keep this in my knife drawer now.
