DD Hammocks XL/Tarp Sleeve (Olive Green)

What any hammocker needs!
I already own the DD 3mx3m tarp and camping hammock so bought this as I was slightly jealous of my friends Hennessey Snakeskin. This was a solid investment, it makes packing my hammock away ten times easy and faster, and it was pretty quick and easy to start with. I bought the XL sleeve and when I got it out of the packet it wasn't as large as expected but when I tried it I was surprised how much stuff you can actually get inside it and pack down. Here is what goes into my sleeve and how I get it in:First I untie my tarp and shake off any excess water I then lower this onto my hammock. My hammock still has my sleeping bag on it and a blanket it the zipper. I then raise up my net hammock underneath for my stuff. I tend to leave the sleeve on my hammock strings so I then feed the bits of paracord holding the tarp and net up through the sleeve and loosely reattach to the tree then I can slide the sleeve over all of this to the other side. I then tighten the sleeve and drop it into a compression dry sack.Basically I end up with one sack with all my sleeping gear in which packs down to around 2.5kg and is really tiny. Part of this is due to having quite a light weight and tiny sleeping bag but there is plenty of space in the sleeve for more stuff. I'm sure if/when I get a mosquito net there will be space for that too.The sleeve also means it's relatively quick to put the hammock up. I can just get it out of the bag tie up the hammock, slide back the sleeve, raise the tarp and lower the net.Another advantage is I can slide my just hammock away into the sleeve during multi day camps, with all my sleeping kit inside. I can then untie an end and drop it down to open up a walkway between the two trees and provide a covered area for people to shelter in if it rains. As I'm often using it on scout camps around two trees near the fire it's nice to be able to reopen the space during the day and it saves the hassle of worrying about people running through it and garrotting themselves, etc.The product is lightweight but really resilient, much like my other DD products, I can see no reason why I'd need to buy a second one during my lifetime. This is a must have accessory for any hammocker, this was a similar level of revelation to when I bought my first hammock two years ago. Even if you don't hammock this could be useful if you frequently put up a DD tarp in the same configuration between two trees. Just slide it in and out of the sleeve with guide lines and roof lines still in place.I'll try and get some photos next time I'm in the woods.

Awesome! fits a lot in it!... More colours would be a bonus.
I can fit my DD hammock (with bug net) in it with the underquilt still attached and even my sleeping bag in this sleeve for quick deployment and packing away. then stuff whole thing into my rucksack or large dry bag.Only nit pick is that I have two hammocks, a dd travel hammock for overnights, and a cheap lightweight hammock for walks etc.. and i want a second xl sleeve, but so far it only comes in one colour. Would love a camo version, so i know which hammock I'm looking at when packing. Hopefully DD make another colour variation.

Good quality and squishes down easily for packing
Arrived next day and is of good quality material. While it is long it was slightly wee for the 4x4 DD tarp but with so much room (is very spacious in width which I assume is to accommodate a tarp or hammock and underblanket) it is easy to pack it all inside. I was also able to squish it down with the tarp inside and pack it back into the tarp bag without any difficulty. I give it 4 stars, only missing out on a 5 as it was a tad short in length for the 4x4 tarp.

Great kit, plenty of room for hammock, blanket, and more.
Great bit of kit. Currently holds my hammock and mosquito net, under-blanket, 4-season sleeping bag and liner w/bivi bag. Haven't added my tarp yet (will break that out when the weather improves and I'm gettingvteady to actually use it) but it looks like there's enough room in the sleeve. Keeps everything together, and turned pack-down into a matter of minutes work.
