Different Isn't a Bad Thing
I have been a big Bush fan since their first album, Sixteen Stone. Since their hiatus in 2001, I have been craving new music from the band, as they have always been my favorite grunge act from my teen years, having fallen in love with Sixteen Stone and Razorblade Suitcase almost immediately, when I was first really getting into music. To get my Bush fix, I stuck with Gavin and his other projects (Institute) and solo stuff, and overall still get enjoyment from playing through all the Bush records. This new album, Sea of Memories, doesn't quite give me the same feeling as those old records, as it feels a bit more straight-forward, accessible and mainstream, but it still delivers plenty of head-bobbing rock tunes and ballads that are sure to become radio hits and fan favorites. Different isn't necessary a bad thing here, and even though I crave that slightly harder, grunge sound, I appreciate the new direction and their focus on growing with the times. Putting out another Sixteen Stone would be nice for me, the hard-core fan, but would it get them anywhere? Would it help them grow? I doubt it. New tracks like `Stand Up', `Heart of the Matter' and `All Night Doctors" are my favorites so far, but there isn't a bad track here. The album is also very positive, as Gavin has written songs here that truly speak of love, hope and getting through to new stages of life, and it sounds silly...but I feel these are songs I can relate to, thus I connect with this record quite a bit. I hope rock fans give Sea of Memories a try, cause it really is an enjoyable rock record with some hard sounds, slower ballads, and plenty in between.

Incendiary!!!
I went to the Bush, Nickelback concert, wondering if it was real "Bush" meaning Gavin, then as I saw them come out, my heart dropped to the floor, I am not gay, but Jesus freaking Christ is he beautiful? The energy and charisma were something that my girlfriend(whom had never even heard of Bush at the time)was so impressed by them that she expected Nickelback to be that much better. I happen to go home and find that Bush is on HDNet the next day, so I watch the show and realize that most of the songs that I was hearing, I was hearing for the first time. That was enough for me to buy the album right then, I rarely buy downloads but I couldn't wait, Then something amazing happened. EVERY song on the album is awesome, I knew that I loved Bush since the beginning but this album ignited that fire again. To say that it is better than any of the other four "original" studio albums is not a good comparison. Bush is a band that has progressed and should be compared to the music of this day. This is the best rock album, start to end that I have heard in ten years every song has a strong attitude in that they are positive meaning the lyrics are uplifting , an obscure track to really listen to is "Stand Up" I like to call it the sequel to "the Sound of Winter"

The Curse of Pop Conversion
I watched Foreigner go down the pop road and hated the final result. However, the Sea of Memories is still a good album as it still retains some of the sound that made Bush the edgy rock band that they were known to be. I only hope that their next album is a return to the basic sound. My single greatest fear for them is that they will turn into a pop band.My single greatest surprise on this album was their acoustic version of "Landslide" which was even better than that of Smashing Pumpkins in my humble opinion. Gavin Rossdale knocked the ball out of the park with this one. If it had not been for this song, I think we would have had a mediocre album instead of a good one.

GREAT comeback album....10 years was too long.
Okay...I have listened to the album once through now and totally enjoyed every single song. I am giving this album 5 stars because I could not have fathomed it would be even worth 3 stars. I thought oh wow, these guys are going to comeback after 10 years of not working together, it's going to be hard on the ears. Now I really enjoyed Gavin's Solo Album so much and his other band Institute's album as well. Sea of Memories is not the same Bush we used to know....it's a Bush that has been influenced by the times and sounds around them and it works it really works. I LOVE this new Bush album. Of course there is going to haters but these are the people are the same people who want to keep hearing Glycerin or songs that sound just like it...let the band grow and change. I for one love this album and think it's a total keeper.

I s aww w them apx 29 times and 18 were since the above album was released. I assure you the past 18 years has only added to their performances! If u neglect this opportunity for any reason, you are doing yourself an awful injustice.

Bush Not Mush
Seeing many of the reviews for the album were quite mixed...I enjoyed it very much...I don't remember when Bush was metal.Everyone says they aren't heavy enough,etc..They had the lighter songs in the past and the heavier rockers,Bush style. It was a fun listen and enjoyed it from beginning to end...The Mirror of The Signs,The Sound of Winter,The Afterlife,All Night Doctors,Baby Come Home,Red Light,I Believe In You and The Heart of The Matter were the standouts for me...Pretty much the whole album. If you enjoyed Bush in the past and look at them open-mindedly,you should like this and get it now~~~~

New Bush Fan!
Sadly, I missed Bush in the 90's (mostly thru listening to only girlie pop music). Bush is one of my husbands fave bands and when he bought this album, I would hear tracks here and there when he played them and really liked what I heard. Once we saw them in concert, I was hooked. This album is really good. All night doctors is an exceptional track, as well as the Afterlife.

Great Surprise!!
This album somehow didn't catch my eye when it first came out even though I had already owned 3 Bush albums. Wow, this is a great album and I'm glad I finally bought it. I highly recommend getting it if you enjoy the band.
