Bought this item because my son has the same item. Works fine for him. I bought, tried to install software (my son didn't install any software) software refused to install four times. Contacted Amazon they contacted LG - said they would come back to me within 48 hours. Okay, then I read through the other customer reviews. My experience was echoed a few times, but alarmingly neither LG or Cyberlink (makers of the software) would take responsibility for the issue. So sending back. If you decide to buy this product hope you have better luck, my son has. UPDATE 19/3/2021 I spoke to Amazon, they contacted LG I spoke to two different people at LG both promised to come back to me within 24 hours... to date no one has.

Bundled Sofware is 7 Major versions outdated. The drive is noisy on reading disks with it's high pitched squeals as it reads disks to the point I am thinking of returning it. It does however do what it is supposed to do
