Got for husband. The bar was easy to place and super helpful. The hidden help for me was that the light would alert me when he got out of bed. Important because he has dementia that is worse at night and tends to wander.

It is easy to assemble directions are right on point. It works well for individuals having trouble getting in or out of bed. Do not need to fasten black strap around the box springs because it is very secured between mattress and boxsprings What I am disappointed with is the night light that comes with the handrail, it stop working after one week of purchase.

This is doing exactly what it says it does -- it helps my husband in and out of bed. The pouch is a nice touch for having "stuff" nearby. We've elected not to use the nightlight at this time (as several reviewers didn't like that it was motion-activated), but it's a very nice feature to have if you ever need it. I will say it took two men to help me with this -- I thought I could do it on my own. There was some heavy lifting for them as our box spring had slid over against the bed rail, and I wouldn't have been able to wrap the safety strap around the bed frame. I suggest sliding your mattress partly off the foot of the bed so you will have ample space to deal with the safety strap -- another great feature. And 5 stars to Customer Service when I had a few questions!

After the safety light did not work, contacted seller about the problem and with no questions asked they send a replacement light. They even asked me to let them know if the new light worked as expected. The whole process took only 3 days. I was very impressed with their customer service.
