This is an outstanding tool for grooming double coated dogs with tendency to mat. It's easier on the dog and the groomer. Since started using, our dog now jumps onto the grooming table without fuss.

I have tried many products over the years for tangle/matt removal, most of which I feel can be rather harsh on the coat as they break the fur,so have stuck with the long slow process with a comb,then quite by accident came across the V RAKE which I received very quickly , much to my hairy Mals dislike,(oh no not another brush, kind of look),I set about removing a clump of dense undercoat and can only say what a wonderful product it does exactly as it says ,it doesn't tear the matt/tangle but eases it out,wish I had found this product much sooner as it made light work of the job with excellent results TANGLE/CLUMP GONE.So would say it certainly works well on dense thick ,long coats.:)

I'm a professional dog groomer so have used many tools on many dogs. This comb/brush is very good at unpicking mats on dogs. It doesn't seem to be too uncomfortable for the dog either unlike some other de-matting tools. I've found it best to work first from below the mat and comb that out using this brush, gradually working your way up, so you unpick the mat from the bottom. I would recommend everyone to get this brush

I have to agree with people on this product. It is a much more pleasurable experience for both owner and dog to use this V Rake.We now have 2 Bearded Collies and before we used a more reputable brand which seemed to tear not only the top coat but also the undercoat, thus stripping both coats. With this V Rake it allows you to tackle the tangles knots of the softer undercoat and allows the top coat more freedom.100% recommendation from us but also from many Bearded Collie Owners in the Netherlands who also use this implement.Essential for Bearded Collie and other long haired dogs.

This product does what it says and the delivery time was excellent

OK for use to keep these places that get knots and mats free of them .But be very gentle as the prongs are quite sharply tipped. I personally would not use this as a matt breaker or undercoat rake ,I only use it to maintain a knot /matt free area. I was hoping that this would be the same as a black one I lost made by a different company but it is not

If you have a double coated dog like my Keeshond you need one of these. Will remove mats and clean out dead undercoat better than anything else I've tried, and boy, I've amassed a collection of so-called wonder tools. This simple comb works. On my second one now because after nearly twenty years of regular use my first one was killed by my new chewing Golden Retriever puppy. Highly recommended for double coated dogs and any other dog who gets mats behind the ears, under the arms and legs, etc.
