3D SYSTEMS 350470 Sense 3D Scanner

For the price is a very good 3D scanner, once I managed to make the software run I managed to make a scan very easily (see image), you need a very good lighting setup to get a good scan. The software takes a bit to make it run (you need to run it in Windows 8 compatibility mode and with administrator rights in windows 10 and you need to install OpenNI2 from their website and copy and paste the x86 dlls from the OpenNI folder to the 3D Sense software folder), I would have given 5 stars if the software worked right away. You need a very good machine to make a 3D scanner, so if you have a relatively low budget machine you will struggle with the scans.

I followed the instructions that came with the box, and at the address where I was hoping to find the software download, they say it's not supported anymore. There's no download link. I don't understand why they removed the software download from their page, while they sold those scanners. So I bought a £500 scanner that I cannot use. Plus, I plugged in the scanner in the USB port and it didn't power up.

I registered on their website, downloaded and installed the software and was scanning within half an hour. It won’t scan black objects so I have some 3d scanner spray on order. I now have the high quality scan of a bigtrak that I wanted. Well worth the money. I’m running it on laptop with i7 8th generation core 4.0 GHz 8MB cache, 8GB memory, windows 10 home edition 64 bit.

Lead too short, disappointing results.

Really, really poor.Problems with the cheaplyrics built device, problems with the software, problems tracking items, poor customer service. When it did scan the quality was extremely poor. PLEASE SAVE YOUR MONEY FOR SOMETHING BETTER!!
