Japanese Zen Gardens Hardcover – 1 Jun. 2017

Everybody I've shown this book to wants their own copy. It's a beautiful edition with every page showing exquisite photographs of Japanese Zen gardens. Having read it I now have a much better understanding of what makes a Zen garden and why. I couldn't recommend it more.

Beautiful beyond description - a quality "no-expense-spared" book - is it a Garden Book or Art Book? It is BOTH so if you have a gardener interested in art or an art-lover who gardens you have just found the perfect present

For a subject that deals in part with enhanced consciousness (?) I find myself looking on with horror at the 'filter' that has presumably been applied to these photos - a sort of matt, dulling effect that deadens what should be some of the most vibrant colour contrasts found anywhere on the planet. There's something decidedly unnatural about it all, something unreal, something totally lifeless. It's as though all the moisture has been sucked out of the vegetation. I'm exasperated; particularly as the cover photo with its more normal 'feel' proves to be quite misleading in the context of what is actually printed inside. I don't know what else to say....other than digital media has done us no favours here.
