K Tool International KTI90002 Q-Bond Adhesive Kit

THIS IS NOT EFFECTIVE ON POLYETHYLENE. This is what it says on the instructions and I haven't seen that in the blurb or reviews online so thought you might like to know.I have so far fixed two things with this:1 kettle, on/off switch was broken,flimsy bit of plastic just inside the body of the kettle and never thought I'd find anything to stick it and could find no spares for this John Lewis model online. It worked so saved cost of new kettle, not sure how much but not a cheap one!2 shredder, ridiculous/cheap design meant that a crucial cog that slid over the metal shaft of the shredder teeth was plastic. After a couple of years the hexagonal edges that gripped the shaft rounded off and the teeth would no longer turn so no shredding. Tried fixing it with Araldite, plumbers putty etc to no avail. I enlarged the hole a bit and made a few slots in the plastic radiating from the centre to fill with Q Bond powder and added the superglue to it, outside in plenty of air! It now works.Time will tell how long for. I'm hopeful about the kettle but the shredder puts such a load on the piece I will not be surprised if it fails, like it did after the areldite/putty repair, but who knows.Q Bond failed on one thing, the clip holding the drainage tube to the back of the washing machine but the bit that broke was so thin and had to be pub under such strain to push it into a metal slot that this is hardly surprising.This appears to be an excellent product even though its early days!

I used Q-Bond to repair a small crack in the bellypan of my Triumph. It was easy and quick to use and because I could use the black powder, it matched my paintwork well. It was fortunate that the part I was working on was easy to remove from the bike because the surface to be repaired needed to be sitting horizontally until the repair was done.

Just used Q Bond to repair the fairing on my 26 year old Kawasaki, I am really impressed with how easy it was to use and the strength of the repair. I found that it works best if you build the repair up in small sections so that you dont flood the area with superglue.So far the repair has held good and theres no flexing around it. I will be buying again and Im looking for something else to repair.

I'm guessing that the glue part of this is 'Super Glue' of some sort (x2 good-sized bottles), but it seems 'industrial strength' compared to other offerings. The included instructions are rather lacking, but there are a couple of decent videos on YouTube that may help you get an idea of applications and the "how to" aspects.What makes the product special is the additional 'filling powders' that come in grey or black. I assume the grey is intended to match an alloy/aluminium finish for metal parts. You can just use the glue part, but chances are the part you're mending is weakened and will probably break again. However, you can use the filling powders to substantially strengthen the mend - just drip some extra glue on or around the mend and then sprinkle on some powder. Be aware - it really does only take 10 seconds to set rock-hard, so be prepared to work very quickly! If you build-up around the 'stress points' you really can get the part close to its original strength (provided you've got room to apply the powder). The strength of the mend is really down to thinking through how best to strengthen it with the powders, and taking time to get the application right. I found it easier (and in one case, more precise) to place some powder first and then drip on some glue - it didn't seem to make any difference, as long as you're careful not to apply too much glue and drip it everywhere!

This is the best product around for plastics - forget those in DIY places. It is versatile, quick and is provided with powdered plastic, to be used as a filler, if small chips were lost, say, in the original break., or to use to re-inforce a joint. You can also build up in stages if required, and the filler can be filed smooth if required.

Great stuff. Sets like concrete. Used it to fix headlight backed after trying numerous other things but nothing worked as the vibration of the car would break it again. This stuff set within seconds and is still holding 3 months later. Probably stronger than the original bracket

It's magic. Literally! I've struggled with epoxy for years - this stuff is the go.

This product has saved me $$$$ in replacement costs. I've been able to repair a number of products and I still have most of the Kit left. I imagine this will last me YEARS :)
