Q: Instructions are very poor. how do you record a record to a usb drive? i tried what the instructions appear to call for with no result.

The player must be turned on. It is necessary to insert the usb drive into the appropriate slot first. Make sure it is actually inserted. Look closely at the control panel. Under the second button from the left there is a small red circle/dot. Once you have a record in place, with stylus ready to start playing push that button firmly. The screen will display a red 'rec' image. You are ready to record. If you push the button again, the 'rec' display disappears and recording stops. Of course nothing from the vinyl will record unless you have the stylus tracking the grooves on the vinyl. If there are multiple tracks on the record and you want to keep them separate on the usb drive, you must push the record button firmly to the off position briefly at the end of one track and then turn it on again quickly before the new track begins to play to begin recording the new track. Watch the display screen to be sure the 'rec' image is on (or off).
