Yes. No fractional inches, but who gets those anyway lol
It's funny those negative reviews on this product that are turned off by this product because it doesn't have fraction inches. Yes. That's correct, but if you want precision, don't use a laser measure lol. If you do, use the metric system.Anyway, this product is more accurate than I thought it would be. I'm an impulsive buyer (I should seek help) so I purchased this out of curiosity to see how it worked. It really surprised me how well it does.

Needs to be able to be calibrated, or have a standard target
I'm sure it works as documented in the instruction manual. It just depends on your needs. If you're mostly always measuring on large, flat (perpendicular), homogeneous surfaces, this seemed to offer consistent readings. I found it's accuracy to often be off by up to 2m though, so you also need to be comfortable with a larger error bar. Measuring in outdoor settings or on small, rugged, angled, or random surfaces will NOT give you desirable results.I can't complain about this really. For the price, and the stated use, this thing works ok. Just beware of your intended use, and definitely "calibrate" it before you go taking any critical measurements. Just because it presents to two decimal places doesn't mean shit. For whatever you are trying to measure, I recommend first taking several measurements and verifying them with a physical ruler so you can bake in corrections as needed (if possible). There were times I simply couldn't get consistent enough results, but again, in those cases I was definitely operating outside of it's design parameters, I'm sure. Measuring wall-to-wall, or floor to ceiling, and simple things such as that, this device will be great.

Arrived defective. Only the red 'On & Measure' button worked. I couldn't compute area, volume, change units or turn it off.
