I really want to love this radio all around. however i just noticed on day 2 from receiving it that bandwidth filters have no effect on mw. do i have?

Because MW is the standard AM broadcast band the radio is fixed at a wider bandwidth to accommodate the AM audio envelope of 6Khz. The shortwave bands where SSB and CW are broadcasted allow for narrower bandwidths by the designers of this radio. Regards. Rick

Can this get long wave frequencies?

No. This radio as sold can go no lower in frequency than the lower end of the medium wave AM broadcast band, that is 550 Khz. Regards, Rick
