Auber Instruments WiFi BBQ Controller for Large Big Green Eggs, SYL-2615SYS-G

Awesome product, the iPhone app interface is intuitive and extremely functional. Maintains perfect temps with my Pit Barrel Cooker and can’t wait to smoke a turkey on Thanksgiving for our crowd of 20.Update: this unit’s pit temp probe failed halfway through my second cook (on Thanksgiving to boot, with a houseful of hungry guests.) Returned unit due to perceived lack of build quality.

We received our first unit and it died liter 15 minutes after hooking it up. That was when Auber Instrument’s outstanding customer service kicked in. We were all set to send the unit back for a refund when Kane from Auber reached out to me. He thought something must have happened with the controller and ac adaptor so he offered to ship one out to me ASAP. He didn’t even wait until he got the faulty equipment back to ship out my replacement pieces.My husband cooked a 15 1/2 beef brisket and a good 10 lb slab of pork belly in our big green egg with the assistance of our Auber BBQ Controller. The temperature of the big green egg was controlled beautifully with this unit. My husband could also see the internal temperature of his beef and pork so he knew when to flip it and when to wrap it. Everything came out awesome!! I think it would be a nightmare to smoke a large piece of meat without Auber’s BBQ Controller maintaining a steady low temp!Great product; great customer service!

This product arrived with no instructions at all. I found the instructions online and tried repeatedly to connect to wifi. It would not work. Totally useless. Will return.

This is literally my first product review, I normally don’t comment publicly on products, but in this case I felt a need to save other people the same frustration I experienced with this product. This really is a terribly built product, I spent over an hour trying to get this unit to communicate with my WiFi. I am actually pretty tech savvy and could not get this thing connected, this included turning of 5ghz on my router, nothing worked.My solution, I went out and bought a Flame Boss, talk about a tale of two worlds. The Flame Boss found my WiFi right out of the box, updated its firmware automatically, and was ready to go. Talk about a difference in product quality.Do yourself a favor, don’t bother buying this unit, spend a little more and get something that works without frustration.

Great product, real easy to connect and manage trough the app. You can plan the whole cook temps: Min, Max and what it will do in between or once the egg or the meat reaches a certain temp.I bbqed a Briscket and programmed it so after the meat reached stall at 160 it would raise the temp to help pass trough it , and once over, to resume at lower temp, it worked beautiful. Really Happy. A programmable BBQ master.

I've had this product for about 6 months and it has been a huge help in maintaining temperatures on low and slow cooks. I've used it many times to cook pork butt overnight and appreciate the alerts that you are able to set. The temperature stays incredibly consistent and connecting over wifi instead of bluetooth allows you to monitor and change the temperature from anywhere. Great product.

This thermometer is amazing! It took my husband's already delicious BBQ to a whole new level! The ability to keep the grill to a steady low temp has made a huge difference in the consistency and is much easier. No more manually having to adjust temp! So convenient. We are SO happy with this!
