It seems to be really well made.
Blown up at least 6 cheap Chinese fan heaters of different makes in the past two years, so Enough was Enough. If this lasts for the 3 year guarantee period, I’ve saved at least £40. Complex is an old trusted name and the 3 year guarantee should inspire confidence. It appears strongly built, warms up fast, and moves a lot of air- so the motor is good. Moving a lot of air means it is impossible for it to be silent, so don’t complain if you can hear it, that means it’s doing its job and doesn’t have a wimpy motor in it that moves so little air that the motor overheats and burns out in no time (bye bye fan heater). You don’t get free lunches with this sort of thing, and Dimplex have appeared to tick all the right boxes . Time will tell if they’ve sold out on including cheap Chinese Crap like too many German Companies now have (my last straw was a big name German Barometer maker - they’re supposed to be precision Scientific instruments, and expensive marine ones particularly sturdy with it- and what actually turned up was worse than cheap really flimsy Chinese Crap with their name on it. I kept it to remind me to never buy anything German ever again (it was the last straw, not the first). If this is still going in 3 years, I’ll try to remember to pop back with an update. Good luck all. Bob

Adequate...
Works well but is rather noisy.

Much nicer than the White Plastic competition.
Seems more powerful than the opposition, both fan strength and heat output (I know they are all supposed to be 2kw but maybe some are not really.. remember American rules limit them to 1500 wats, so maybe they just stretch a point here in the UK). On the other hand I think it is a bit noisier.Controls in a convenient place and easy to turn. Thermostat seems to be consistent. No real handle to carry it with, but it is a nice regular shape to pick up.Made of metal, not plastic and with a nice paint finish. Interesting design (and being shiny black...) make it look very different from most others.Excellent product.

Quick warm up portable heater.
This heater was purchased as gift for my daughter on the strength that I purchased the exact same model some 5 or 6 years ago and since the date of purchase have found it quick to heat up, has two heat settings, one cool setting and thermostatically controlled. It has a recessed grip handle to help lift it about. Its a very good heater for the money, and backed by a Dimplex 2 year guarantee. It doesn't oscillate, but can be repositioned by lifting it with the recessed hand grip.

It's very very very loud.
Good size. Very loud. Can't have a conversation when this is on. Can't listen to music when this is on. You need subtitles on TV when this is on. Did I say it's loud?Be careful when lifting it because it slips out of your hand. Can't return it because I've used it now but I wouldn't buy again. Going to look for a new home for it.Yes it heats up the room quite nicely but not conducive for conversation or just relaxing. Couldn't even read the paper when this was on. Disappointed.

Compact and very efficient
Very easy to operate and portable.

Good but could do with a proper handle.
An effective heater for a small room that can certainly knock some heat out. The thermostat seems to work effectively.A downside is that it lacks a proper carrying handle, so there is a risk of it slipping out of your hands if/when it needs moving.Overall I am pleased with it.

Great little compact heater
I needed this as I’ve been working from home in my attic which isn’t connected to the house central heating. This heater although small bangs out an incredible amount of heat- so much so, that I run it on half speed and 50% temp on the thermostatic dial. Yes it is a bit noisy but I don’t mind.
