Does the job, but is it better than the ordinary version?
Strangely this doesn't seem any more effective than the normal strength version, but both work well. You just need to question if you really need the 'tough' variety. I made up a stick with a short length of garden hose attached to which applied the gel to that and found it better to use at arms length - rather than bending (yes OK they do a 'wand' version of this stuff , but why bother, this stick method is more accurate- and cheaper!). Knocking out persistent bind weed is quite easy, ground elder and nettles taking longer to die back, but it's working.

waste of money, don't bother
I got the tough gel because I wanted to make sure it did the trick and still it has not worked. I used the gel because the offending weeds were next to my pond and I did not want to risk the spray getting into the water. I first applied a month ago and then after seeing no results I applied again 2 weeks ago. the only thing I have noticed is further growth, not even any signs of browning even on the areas that I applied the gel.

Worked well but an expensive way of treating larger areas
The roundup gel worked well on a row of horsetail weeds in a 15ft bed under a hedge. As these weeds don't have much surface area to treat I applied using a latex glove, putting some gel on to the glove and then rubbing over the leaves to ensure good coverage. My only concern is that this is a much more expensive way of treating a large area than other weed killers using a spray or watering can for application.

Easy to use and effective
Seems to work well on ivy. Also bought the wand and found that made the job even easier. You just need to apply it and forget about it as it seems to take a little while to do the job but it has been succesfull. Applicator works well - you just click the blue button for a measure of gel to come out the top.

Useful for persistent weeds and brambles
This took quite a few clicks to get any gel to come out. I thought it must be empty for a while. Eventually it appeared and I find it easy to put on weeds in the lawn as long as I am careful. Next doors brambles still try to break through but this has certainly slowed them down. Perhaps I should give it to my neighbour to use on the main plant. At 2020 price which is about 2.5 times the proper price it is not worth it any more.

Good product for the leaves of invasive tree roots
I am using it to kill sumac tree roots sprouting in the borders and lawn (trees from neighbouring house). Extremely pernicious roots. It takes a week or so but the leaves do die off with this weed killer. I dont know how far the roots actually die I suspect their destruction will be a full time job!

Fast acting on grass-like weeds
I used this on some tough, ugly grass-like weeds on my lawn. Very easy to apply, I wore disposable gloves, smeared some gel onto the fingers and applied to some of the fast growing blades. Within about 3 days they started to yellow and wilt. After a week they were dead and the grass seed I had scattered started to replace the dead patches.
