Works well for me
I play in a covers band, and since we can't predict what kind of lighting we're going to get at a venue (usually we play at pubs) I felt I needed something like a reading light to attach to my music stand (which I usually use for lyrics sheets).Despite the relative expense, I chose this one because of the wide 'hammerhead' style to give a nice spread of light and it achieves the desired effect. the clip keeps the light on the stand nicely and the goose neck allows me to maneuver the light where I need it without blinding the audience. We even used it for when we were setting up our gear, which was particularly useful for the drummer when putting together his electronic drum kit. Bonus!

Great buy
Bought for my 12 year old daughter as a reading light. Perfect, it’s a gadget and she can take it with her everywhere

Music Light is same product and cheaper than the Book Light
Nice light. Giving 4 stars for the Mighty Bright HammerHead Book Light because you can buy the identical light for £5 less in the box marked Mighty Bright HammerHead Music Light (the Music Light also comes with a carry case that the Book Light doesn't)!

Not so good as its big brother.
This does the jo adequately but the light isn't mighty bright and it feels a it flimsy. In retrospect, I'd have bought the 9 LED version which is v bright, more robust and can run off mains power. It costs three times as much butI think it's worth it.

BRIGHT EYES!
This is a wonderful, portable gadget for those with poor eyesight like me. It clips on very safely to a music stand, lectern and the like. Very unobtrusive to the audience but has a very bright light (2 strengths). Cannot recommend it enough!

Good value
Good value if it lasts as long as last one which lasted 10 years

Fab little light
Great light for a music stand, but soon uses up the batteries, I advise you to invest (only £5 from some sellers) in a mains adapter. The batteries can then be used when out at venues where there is no handy power supply.

Keyboard music light.
Easy to use, should be 2 settings, but only 1 appears to work? Not very bright, but ok to use in poor daylight.Mains adapter extra, which may help to provide a brighter light as batteries do not last long.

TRIED USB POWERED & RECHARGEABLE — BACK TO BATTERY POWERED HAMMERHEAD.
I wanted to be sensitive to our environment. I'd used the Mighty Bright Hammerhead Music StandLight to read in bed for years but they’re battery operated, unless you get the accessory which allowsyou to plug it into an ordinary electrical outlet. They clip easily onto your book and provide plenty of light. It has two brightness levels which allow you to dim it down a little preserving battery life.Wanting to do the right thing, first I purchased a light that had to be plugged into a USB port at all times. My error, I didn't realize it had to always be plugged in, guess I was thinking rechargeable but that’s notwhat I bought. I also didn't know, my computer had to be turned on in order for the USB port to work topower anything. I simply never thought about it or how that worked. Also, the length of the cord wasn't really long enough for laying down and reading in bed. Since my only USB ports are on my laptop, it had to be sitting very close by. This was not a Mighty Bright light.Next I tried a rechargeable light. It was horrible! It didn't hold the charge very long and when it got todim to read, I had recharge it before I could read on. I read a lot of mysteries and have been known togo without meals because I didn't want to stop to go get something to eat. Can you imagine getting to acrucial point, really into it, and not only have to stop reading for a couple minutes, but for an a couplehours? Frustrating! That wasn’t a Mighty Bright light either.Next I tried a different Mighty Bright . Not sure it’s even being offered now. As I recall, it was rechargeablebut could be used while plugged into the USB port being recharged. It had 2 or 3 different brightness levels . It also had a shorter plastic arm than the Hammerhead’s arm. Within minutes, the piece where the arm attached to the base began to crack. The arm wasn’t long enough to train the light towards the bottom of full sized hard back book. That pressure, trying to get the arm adjusted to shine the light down there, is probably the stressor- or at least one of them- that caused the cracking. It happened with two of these lights. Actually, the first of them worked great at first, although it cracked immediately. But , after using it a couple times, it began shutting itself off. It started out doing it several minutes apart, I’d turn it back on and within a few minutes it would shut off again. The time between the two got shorter & shorter very quickly. Reading for one minute, or less, at a time,, is not how I want to read for enjoyment.. on—off; on—off; on—off. It was enough to make you nuts!Ok it has a bad chip—there was a lot of that during the Covid caused chip shortage and this could have been from that inventory, so I gave them a 2nd. chance. Again, within minutes I had a crack where the arm attached to the base but it stayed turned on. I used it for a few months until the cracks had grown &it had broken a piece off. When I could see the exposed wires inside the base. I decided I needed to replace it.So, after really trying to “do the right thing” & accumulating a collection of unacceptable book lights, I bought another Hammerhead. My old one had been used for many years and the lamps weren’t as bright as they’d once been. You know, old LEDs don’t die, they just fade away. Anyway, as the batteries wear down, and it gets too dim to read, it only takes a minute, or less, to replace the 3 batteries and you can continue reading. The 3 AAA batteries allow you to read all day + , or fall sleep for hours a few times while reading with thelight still on. Even buying cheap batteries, I’ve always felt I got enough time reading out of the batteries to make it worth while. The Hammerhead has a wider light head thus lighting up more of the book. For a paperback, it will light both pages. For a full sized hard back it can be trained on one page or the other, if necessary. The neck ismetal, not plastic to crack & eventually break pieces off. It’s also longer so you can position it wherever you want, and, because it ’s longer, it’s can be positioned higher, often lighting up the bottom of the page almost as well as it lights the top on larger books/pages.For me, there simply isn’t another book light that works as well it does for reading in bed without additional lights in the room turned on.

Nice little light
Build is a little less than other Mighty Bright's I have owned but still quite good. Very functional and came with a nice little carry pouch. Light. beam is too narrow for two pages of music but is perfect for my small mixer, which was my intended use. I like that it will free stand or clamp.
