These stabilizer wheels are great when you use them correctly.
These are hands down the most robust stabilizer wheels you can buy that still have enough flexibility in them to enable dynamic riding. They have enabled my 64 year old mother-in-law who has had knee replacement surgery to ride a rather large and heavy fat tire bicycle without any fear of it falling over on her when she mounts, turns, and dismounts it.If you install these wheels properly with the quick detach hardward, an inch or two off the ground, they work precisely as they are supposed to. They are for stabilizing an adult sized person of average weight through wide slow turns and for when you mount or dismount the bike. They are not meant to be placed directly on the ground while riding in a straight line with the bike. In other words, they are not meant to be used as a substitute for a trike. You cannot expect to ride a bike equipped with these at high speeds or on technical terrain without having your steering thrown off a when a stabilizer wheel comes in contact with uneven ground (higher on one side than the other) or when taking too sharp of a turn at too high of a speed.I agree with another reviewer that the people who had negative experiences with this product where simply using it incorrectly due to a misconception of how it's supposed to work. The rider needs to deliberately take it slow and mount the bike with care, start off peddling slowly in first gear until you feel that the bike is now upright and centered, you will feel one wheel or another skidding on the ground a little bit when you first get going or when you turn, beware or this and start out slow giving yourself plenty of room from obstacles. Also, make your turns slow, wide, and deliberate... you can even lean on the wheel just a tiny bit if you have them installed at a proper height and dont over load their weight limit.Practice riding with them on until you get a feel for them and can anticipate how they are going to react when you turn and at what speed... fine tune and adjust as needed. You may even find you don't need them anymore at some point.I hope this review gives someone else out there the courage to give these wheels a try. They really are helpful in giving a huge boost to an otherwise timid rider's sense of confidence after suffering a bike fall injury or recovering from a surgery.

Very happy with this purchase....
I hesitated to buy this based on the reviews...but it really met or needs and so we thought we'd give it a try... my wife has peripheral neuropathy and our last bike ride ended in the emergency room... Her difficulty is starting and stopping... installing this was pretty easy. Took for a test run yesterday and it worked great.. We keep the wheels about an inch off the ground and it provides that extra stability that she needs. One review said they couldn't get the wheels at the same height ( there are 2 places that can affect this where it attaches to the wheel and where it attaches to the bike)..I had no problem.. The other was a problem with short turns.. yea, you can't make sharp turns with these wheels, nor with a trike..just don't do it.. we are very happy with this purchase...

Best available but...
More robust spring and weld would be great. 20 inch wheels wouldn't hurt either.

I was hurt really bad both times
These made it impossible to steer my bike I wrecked twice tearing most of the skin off my knee and fore arm, I was hurt really bad both times. The tires and inner tubes were so cheep they go flat after two days, I really hate this product and its too late to send it back. It's so bad I would not resell and subject some other person to this disappointment.

Return shipping too expensive
My husband attached easy trainer according to directions, but these trainers make it very hard to turn in fact impossible in a tight turn (I fell over injuring my hip and foot). Tried to return for refund but since customer has to pay return shipping (is $125.) not worth it.

Worth it
Finally got the product in NZ for my special need son, though I got the bike shop to install it, it still required further adjusting to your need. But it so worth it seeing my son being able to ride on his bike and enjoy it, this has given him experience on the bike and hoping eventually he can learn how to balance on the bike without a training wheel. Thanks guys so much.
