Hartleys White 5 Tier Bookcase

It's back is made of cardboard. That needs nailing. I've nailed it so many times it still pops out very frequently and I had to push it back. Other bits are alright.I would avoid it for the places where I need to use it veey frequently and would rather buy ot for store rooms as don't have to touch it a lot.

The book case is what it says on the tin, for the price it is fairly good, so much so that I bought four of them. However you do need to be careful with the construction as sometime the numbers labeling the pieces fall of. All in all no complaints.However the company needs to speak to its delivery people, I live in a block of flats with three floors, there are lifts present, these flats are for people who have medical-physical conditions such as heart, lungs sometimes with the amount of O2 that is delivered and nurses running around it looks like a hospital. Yet the delivery guy just dropped them of down stairs with the comment " you can take them in yourself, sign here" and then disappeared.The bookcase is ok, but the delivery people, well lets just say I was taken by surprise.

The bookshelf arrived promplty and came out exactly as depicted in the picture. I was very happy to find a 5 tier bookshelf, with the added option of keeping it as a three tiered bookshelf by not adding the two extra shelves. This gives abit of ''creative thinking'' room in terms of how to organize and place your stuff on the shelf. As some tiers can be larger than others making room for complicated items which are tall.In terms of assembly, the only issue I had was that upon arrival, one of the wooden dowels we're broken, this isn't much of a bummer as the wood would still hold together, this may also be the fault of the way it was handled during delivery. However, this needn't be an issue if your the type who keeps leftover bits and bobs from DIY tasks as spares... Well this needn't be an issue for anyone who doesn't either really. Besides everyone has their own delivery story and this was mine.Overall, this bookshelf has cleared alot of space in my room and due to it's large size and decent depth, all manner of things can be stored in it, making it a necessary item for the house. The bright white seems to have made it an appealing object to my house guests too.

When I received it the box was damaged and two of the shelves were damaged in the corner so I had to turn them upside down and put them to the back of the unit so you can’t see the damage,

It's alright. Bit expensive for what it is. Fair bit of assembly needed, but that's normal for this kind of furniture I suppose. Anyway, it does the job.The first delivery of this item came with the main parts snapped in half and the package damaged. Not very professional to deliver an item in such a state.The company asked me to provide pictures of the damage. When I did so, they provided a replacement free of charge, and did not ask for the damaged item to be returned. So 10/10 for customer treatment after the fact, but still, they need to work on their delivery consistency.Chap at work has repurposed the undamaged parts of the first item into shelving, so every cloud, eh?

I like this Bookcase. I expected it to be frail but once built, it is sturdy. It is easy to assemble. It offers minimal control on shelf position (two of the shelves are not fixed, the end-user can decide how best to position them).

Very good bookcase especially for the money. It looks neat, and is perfect for my books etc. The shelving is nicely spaced and I’m very happy with it.

Original unit was damaged when it arrived but very quickly resolved and new unit sent out
