Wowsa!
Very impressive! So accurate I can barely read it! Highly recommend to any Hendrix fans. I usually receive people's damages returns from Amazon anymore. This is one thing that they can't screw up.

An awesome resource
Those who are looking for an in-depth dive into the songs and style of the man who launched modern rock should consider this book. A transcription of the record of the same name, this book covers most of the well established classics from Hendrix's catalog. While it would take a transcription of his entire works for me to call it comprehensive (invariably everyone has favorites, and something is not going to "make it" to a single release) this is, in my humble opinion, the best place to start if you want to study Hendrix's mammoth influence on rock and all its sub-genres.

A Great Guide
It's hard to try to encapsulate Hendrix on paper, however this book can give you a foundation in trying to learn his music. At the end of the day, you will need to rely on your ear to really attempt to capture his nuances but if you combine that with this sheet music, you can be in great shape. Good luck!

Precise and detailed
This is a great work- I am wholeheartedly impressed. The transcriptions here are full scores, meaning that every instrument played on each studio recording is notated in sheet music and then tabbed out in the language of that instrument. There is also about a half page description before each song discussing its unique features and mechaincs. The guitarist who is interested in understanding Jimi's style and techniques could do so with this book, the album itself, and perhaps a few other recordings. And drummers would do well to analyze it also.As far as quality, the level of detail and accuracy is like nothing I've ever seen in a music book. The author has done the impossable by taking Jimi's techniques and notating them all on paper. Truly impressive, and truly useful.

Exactly what you expect
Great TAB book, which includes more than I'll ever use. Not only does it have the guitar tabs, it has the bass, drums, and vocals all mapped out for you as well. Each song is preceded by a brief description and history of the song itself. They're about as well written as something you'd expect from a 6th grader, with a few SAT words peppered in there to trick us into believing that what we're reading is intellectually charged (it's not). But that's perfectly fine. If I was looking for some interesting reading about Jimi Hendrix, I would have bought a biography. Instead, I wanted a comprehensive book of guitar tab so that I could learn how to accurately play my favorite songs. On that count, this books delivers in spades.

Great transcription with bass and drum transcriptions included
Great transcription with bass and drum transcriptions included. Thoughtful narrative at the beginning of each song. The only thing is that, being a female, my hands aren't as big as mens' hands, so it's hard to play some of these peices because Jimi uses his thumb as a bass line on the low E string while playing on the higher strings. I'd need to buy a ladies guitar to play these.

The most comprehensive tablature of the greatest
For those wanting to study the master with great detail and accuracy this is the book to have. Hal Leonard did a superb job on this offering, giving excellent transcriptions of Jimi Hendrix, Noel Redding, and Mitch Mitchell's parts all together. I was frustrated searching for online tabs of Jimi's work always coming up with incomplete and incorrect versions of his guitar parts. Right off from simply reading these tabs to the music I could tell these were perfect. Even Jimi's minor slips on the fretboard are notated. Hows that for accuracy. Highly recommend! Now 'cuse me while I kiss the sky.

Not good for piano
Worst Hal Leanard I have purchased. Small, hard to read, ( has 8 lines! Chords, vocals, guitar one, guitar two, bass, and drum, never seen this before, extremely complex and unusual). I guess very skilled orchestra experienced bands may like it. I just wanted what most Hal Leanard books are, and this is like no other. Plus, after I purchased, I saw many sellers with prices much cheaper, must be an AMazon algorithm profit scheme. Make sure you can see the inside of a book before a purchase.

An excellent book and well worth the money
An excellent book and well worth the money. It has very detailed transcriptions of many of Hendrix's best known tracks. Not perfect but very good. You still need to listen to what is coming out of the speakers and adjust your playing accordingly. My main criticism is that it does not contain 3rd Stone From the Sun. One word of caution: there is a cheaper thinner beginners version of this book that has an identical cover and title and retails for about Β£20. Make sure that you buy this version which is a much better book and much better value at around Β£30.
