My first real project, and I completed it pretty quickly, even if I did a certain amount of ripping and redoing. There was plenty of floss for my mistakes, the fabric is high quality cotton or a cotton-linen blend, and the design came out beautifully. The ink pattern easily dissolves in water when you're done. I've tried several different, more expensive kits and none have come out as nicely or look as high quality. The fabric particularly makes this easy to do well for the beginner.

This came with all the right materials, but with one major drawback: the directions don’t come in English. For those with more experience this might not be a problem but as I’m not one of those people this has made things a little difficult.

Great kit for starting out practicing your embroidery. The directions if I remember correctly are not in English but had a pamphlet describing the stitches used. You can always youtube videos if you are unsure. Also the Chinese characters and printed design wash out after you are done stitching. Hand wash only and don't wring out the fabric because it will leave creases and it's very hard to iron out. (found out the hard way) But you will have a nice piece in the end. Would highly recommend this kit for anyone starting and the thread seems to be of good quality.

All the supplies came and it was good quality. However it's supposed to be for beginners and the directions aren't in English but I can tell they are so brief there's no way I would have been able to do it anyway.

Pretty enough, but since this is supposed to be a beginner kit, I'm gonna have to wing it because instructions are in Chinese!

There are some printed Chinese characters in the middle of the fabric, they were not on the picture. You’d have to return it if you were hoping to give it as a gift, as I am just practicing, it’s not a problem but it is frustrating that they are there.
