The Secret Garden (Young Reading (Series 2)): 1

A prefect book for any young reader. The book contains beautiful illustrations and is very clearly written. The plot is simple, but accurate, ideal to introduce children to The Secret Garden. The story is in easy to understand language and builds the Childs self-assurance in there ability to succeed and progress. Perfect for children who are ready for chapter books in terms of content but who like plenty of illustrations to look at in a book as well as words. These are a great series of stories and excellent quality books.

A lovely simple version of the story for teaching younger children. A little more character description would have been good.

This well loved classic is the perfect choice for an emerging young reader.Although the text is simplified the integrity of the story is sustained in a way that appeals to a modern reader.

A timeless classic my six year old daughter and eight year old son love it. Highly recommended.

This short edited edition is lovely for the very young. But in fact also for the very elderly. My 90 year old mum loved it and read it over and over bless her !

very thin book, i remember this being a tome when i little but this seems more like the children's version

Some books published by Usborne are great for children learning English. Pupils can listen to the story in an English or American accent after they've read the story themselves. This book uses vocabulary that is more advanced and there is no recording kids can listen to. Nor can a teacher read a couple of pages before buying it to see if the level suggested is actually appropriate. I find this failing frustrating and unprofessional.
