Keeps water clear, but had to use a bit of force to fit to my pump, and had to trim it a bit, and even so it hasn't covered all of the inlet, so the claims it is "universal" is not quite true.My set-up: last year I decided to buy a "solids handling" pump as I got fed up of cleaning the pump inlet sponge on the old pump I had, sometimes twice or more per week. I thought that the new pump together with my external Hozelock pressure-fed filter (with UV) would keep the water clear. Wrong! I ended up not with pea-soup water, but definitely not clear.With this foam cube fitted despite my comments above, it has been running and keeping the water crystal clear! It's only just started to require cleaning the foam filter after over two weeks of constant running!Not bad all in all.

This filter is the ideal gauge if your pond is free of any blanket weed.

Ever been disappointed with the clarity of your fish pond? If so then this is the answer. Simply enclose the pump with a foam cube and switch on. The foam filter will take out all the green dirtiness and leave you with a nice clear pond. Be prepared to clean the filter regularly as it will become blocked while doing it's job. We have a fish pond where you can see the fish swimming around. The foam cube will work best as a pre-filter with another filter after the pump.

At last we have continual clear water and the pump does not clog up any more. Brilliant invention.

I had to modify it slightly as my pump inlet wasn't same as the pre cut holes. Once I did that it's doing the job nicely.

Used as far later in tank. Fish tank has stayed much cleaner with this filter.

I gave this item as a present and have had no reports back so I assume it was well received.
