Catit Self Groomer with Catnip

Attached it to a door at a shelter. Never saw a cat use it. Maybe I just didn’t see it.

I have a fluffy Persian with a face to die for and boatload of attitude! he scratches that flat little face of his on any thing and everything including the corners of my laptop when I'm not looking!!! so I thought this product would be a good thing for him. I mounted it on the wall at the right hight and this is my take on it:1) It comes with little strips of adhesive which is practically a joke since the scratcher is two pieces of heavy duty plastic that can't be held up with those, and the company knows it. So they've also drilled holes in the wall mount part for nails. Which is what I did, its nailed to the wall and is now safe and secure2) I have white walls and this thing is a God-awful blue color which really sticks out like s soar thumb! I wish they would have color choices such as muted colors for people with lighter color walls. Not a big deal but for me with a small one bedroom apartment in New York city every inch counts and is visible. I guess if you have a large house and you can hide this in a corner than no one sees, it wouldn't be that much of an eyesore3) My kitty doesn't care much for cat nip, which this product has a slot for it in order to attract cat's attention. Since he uses anything he gets his hand on to scratch his face (in addition to twice daily grooming sessions by yours truly) I thought he would love this product. I gently introduced it to him a couple of times but he has not been using it at all. Despite the fact that he is not using it I'm keeping it for two reasons 1) its already nailed to the wall 2) My baby boy is a late adopter and he may come aroundConclusion: if you think your kitty might use something like this, give it a try, its cheap enough to do so, the plastic is not flimsy and if you mount it with nails it'll be secure. Other than its terrible color, and lack of color choices its made well.

I am always looking for products that will satisfy the sweetest yet most perplexing cat on the planet. She has turned her tail up at my last few perfect picks. Now, I am always ready to understand that the box simply must have its turn. But after the jumping into, hunkering down, and sleeping........... then playing in the box, I expect my cat to eventually get around to playing with my little offering to the cat goddess. Uh huh. I am sure you know my pain.Finally, I ordered 2 self-groomers. (Don't be fooled, even if it is the smallest of boxes, your cat will find it alluring and you will have to wait the allotted box time.) In the mean time, I carefully plotted my Catit groomer placement. I have to say that it is solid enough, but it did not quite appeal to my concept of perfect cat toy. Finally, I found my locations. One, on the brand new, perfectly constructed, box cat tower that I lovingly designed and constructed and was sure any moment would have my wonderful little furball experiencing purrfect contentment. The other was casually placed on the kitchen island leg. The double sided mounting tape made it easy. It is made to attach more permanently too, if you are confident, but I was not falling into that trap…… again.Of course, I removed the Catit from the completely unsatisfactory and neglected box tower not long after, just before disassembly and disposal of my creative masterpiece. I am still working out a new location for that Catit groomer. The one on the kitchen island, however, is the best (intended) cat purchase I have ever made. My finicky feline uses it every time she patters in and shows no sign of getting bored with it. She will even go out of her way to brush up against it. I am afraid if I put the other one up it will break the spell. I have never purchased anything that, no matter how kitty cool it might be at first, has not been abandoned after a week.Those padded tape pieces are standing up well to frequent and vigorous use and my Cat is quite happy with this little bit of magic. That prickly blue contraption that I was not all that impressed with when I put it up has become far more attractive to me since. Just don’t tell my Cat or, well, you know what will happen. I won’t say that I recommend the Catit, but I will say that my little furry companion gives it 5 Meows.

Catit Self Groomer with Catnip I am very impressed with this product. I purchased it not really having high expectations but because of the price thought I had nothing to really lose.The minute I attached the product to the wall my cat took to it immediately, even without the cat nip which is provided in the package. I've had it for a few days now and my cat loves to brush her face up against it multiple times a day. The package contains some tape to affix it to the wall, however, I didn't use it so I can't review the strength of the adhesive. I wanted to place this in a particular room and didn't have two tiled surfaces that were perpendicular to each other (and I didn't want to attach it to a a painted surface as I didn't want to risk pulling paint off when removing the Groomer). Instead, I attached one half of the Groomer to a tiled surface with two pieces of Velcro, while the other half is just pressed against a painted surface. So far this has been strong enough to support the Groomer to the wall even with the cat's vigorous and frequent rubbing.I don't know how long the adhesive will hold up, but the product itself seems sturdy and really well made. I like that the item is made of plastic bristles rather than wired bristle (as I've read several accounts of those causing some cats to have issues). I highly recommend this product, especially at the price point (Add-On Product), you can't go wrong. I think it's well worth the money as it allows my cat to give herself face rubs (which she loves) all day, any time. So far she only rubs her face against it and doesn't seem interested in using it for any other part of her body. If I could change one thing about the product, I wish it would have been manufactured flat so you would have the option of attaching it to a corner or just up against any flat surface.
