Pictures appear to show two pull cords (eg for speed and oscillation) but these are not referred to in description. Does it come with pull cords?

Yes it comes with two pull cords: one to adjust the speed of the fan, but there is a circular dial on it that you can use as well, and the other cord is to turn on and off the oscillation of the fan to make it blow air over a large area.

How long is the provided cable please?

Unfortunately I had to return this fan as when it arrived there was a part missing so I never used it. I bought a different one in the end. Sorry
