Works well with Plusnet youview box!
I bought this to help me send the picture from my plusnet youview box downstairs to my old CRT tv upstairs after leaving sky. (I previously had my sky box picture sent upstairs via coax cable and controlled with a magic eye & 2nd sky remote) I didn't have to change anything upstairs - apart from retune the upstairs tv) Works great! In addition to the TV Link Plus I just had to buy an RF modulator (so got the mercury ILS102 modulator) as well as a second tv remote, so i ordered the BT youview remote direct from BT Shop as it was cheaper than anywhere else. The magic eye I already had for my old sky set up was a Global Invacom one also so it worked great with the tv link plus (other brands of magic eye may not) They do sell a tv link plus without the power supply - but you DO need it to make work with the youview box. You also need a way to connect the rf modulator to the youview box - i used a scart lead. I taped one IR emmitter face down ontop of the youview box so It could pick up the signal from the remote - wasn't sure exactly where to tape it but put it at the front right hand side and it works well. I put the other one as high as i could, and facing up. I am so pleased we ditched Sky now - two local tv aerial companies i spoke to said it wasn't possible to replicate my sky second tv setup - but after doing some online research I took the gamble and bought the necessary equipment - am so glad i did! .(I did consider using some IR extenders such as the marmetik ones but was put off by some reviews saying they can interfere with other IR equipment such as car central locking systems so I ruled that out & stuck with the magic eye - i suppose it depends on layout of your house/street but i live in a small house next to a street so decided not to risk it)

Global Invacxom TV Lik Plus Adapter
I tried to use this Global Adaptor with my 5 x TVs setup and Virgin TIVO box. My TVs all had "magic eyes" attached to each coaxial, but it failed to work. After talking on the phone to a technician at Global, I realised that, although I had connected it in the correct way, I should have been using their own make of magic eyes (instead of the sky ones I had), and probably using the Global signal booster instead of the different signal booster I had.Various customers with Virgin on the Virgin customer website, have said how good this Global TV Link Adaptor actually is, so I won't disprove it. It's my fault because I have the wrong ancillary equipment. So I bought the Powermid XL wireless transmitter and receivers, which send/receive wireless signals to control the Virgin TIVO box whilst watching TV in other rooms other than the lounge where the Virgin TIVO box is situated, and my system works perfectly using my previous signal booster, with no need for magic eyes to be fitted to each coaxial.

Great Purchase
Unlike SKY boxes Virgin doesn't have powered rf outlet which means you can't extend the video with coax cable & can't control it, from other room, which is typical of virgin. So If you have virgin box & you wish to control it from a different room, this s*** does the magic. You would also need to buy Universal Scart To Coax Video Modulator to convert scart output to coax output & offcourse tv eye. .

It works
I bought this to operate my sky box and dvd from within a cabinet, it works. Dislikes; the signal is sometimes hit and miss I have to bounce it of a wall, otherwise it is fine. I looked for similar products but needed one with a power supply this was the only one I could find. It was easy to install and once you found the right position for the second remote slave it was up and running

Good product
Ordered a few months ago and only just got this installed. Does what it says on the tin and I am now enjoying watching TV in the Kitchen Diner and able to change stations without returning to the lounge to do so
